ARTS: The first volume of Introduction to South African Guitar Styles:
Five Decades of Ukuvamba is out. The book which is by guitarist and
researcher Billy Monama is an exploration of the history of the guitar
in Black South African popular music and includes music styles such as
marabi, maskanda, African jazz, kwela, mbaqanga and XiTsonga. Billy
joins us on the line.

come up with a product called Tin Stuff which is canned
chicken feet and necks. The product which is in 400g
cans is supplied to Shoprite. We’re joined on the line by

Walter Sisulu University student Sibongile
Mani has been sentenced to five years in prison. The
mother of two was found guilty of theft by the East
London Regional Court last month after she spent over
R800,000 of the money that she received from NSFAS.
She was paid an amount of R14 million instead of R1,400
in June 2017 by Cape Town-based company, Intellimali.

postponed from end-March to end-June. Government is

Staff and students at the University of Cape
Town will not be forced to have a Covid-19 vaccine so that
they can work or study at the university. Instead the UCT
Council has chosen to make vaccination voluntary, rather
