SA has close to 2 million children living with HIV/AIDS. We now chat to the author of a children’s book titled I Am Still Zuri which helps initiate conversations around HIV/AIDS. We’re joined on the line by Nozibele Qamngana-Mayaba who is an HIV activist, social entrepreneur and self-published author.

The South African Medical Association has called for the establishment of specialised medical courts to deal with medical negligence cases. SAMA says these courts would be where trained medical practitioners will be called to scrutinise decisions made by doctors. We now speak to Dr Angelique Coetzee, chairperson of the SA Medical Association.

 Police say Gauteng and Mpumalanga are under siege by blue light robbers who are responsible for a spate of vehicle hijackings in these areas. They are armed gangs who impersonate police and travel in vehicles fitted with blue lights and sirens. Pretending to be police officers, they force motorists to pull over, before hijacking them. Since April 2020, there have been about 300 such cases reported with 40 suspects arrested. A few days ago, a young man whose identity has been concealed for his protection, was hijacked by armed robbers on Gauteng's West Rand using similar tactics. He was also kidnapped and held for 10 hours. Tshepo Phagane has more.

The Kannaland Municipality in Ladismith in the Little Karoo hangs in the balance after the ANC broke ties with its coalition partner, the Independent Civic Organisation of South Africa (ICOSA), over the current mayor's rape conviction. The ANC was put under pressure to review its coalition agreement following gender-based violence activists' calls, upon hearing that they supported a partnership with Kannaland Mayor, Jeffrey Donson.
