Palesa Madiba went missing in 2013 and her remains were found two years later. Dumisani, was the last person to see her but claimed she left the house. INTERVIEW: Teachers’ Union Sadtu says they’re filing an urgent court application to interdict the department of basic education’s decision for matrics to rewrite leaked exam papers. Mathematics Paper 2 will be written on 15 December and the Physical Science Paper 2 on 17 December. We’re now joined on the line by Nkosana Dolopi, Sadtu Deputy General Secretary.

Teachers Union, SADTU, says it will head to court on today to seek an urgent interdict to challenge the Basic Education Department's decision that matric learners must rewrite the leaked exam papers. Minister Angie Motshekga announced on Friday that learners would rewrite Mathematics paper two and Physical Science paper two on December 15 and 17, respectively. We spoke to Tshegofatso Bathobotlhe, a matric learner at Golfview Park High in Mafikeng, she says the decision to have everyone rewrite maths and physical science papers is unfair on them as students who did not cheat the system; Vanishaa Gordhan, Project Manager at the South African Anxiety and Depression Group (SADAG) AND Professor Ahmed Bawa (CEO: Universities South Africa).

An explosion has occurred at the Engen Oil refinery at Merebank south of Durban. The cause of the explosion is unknown at this stage. Seven people have been injured. Emergency services say the seven sustained mild injuries and have been treated on the scene. Community members from Wentworth and surrounding areas are challenging the Engine Oil Refinery to upgrade infrastructure to ensure proper operations. We spoke to Frank Alexander, who is an activist with the South Durban Basin Community Development Trust.

The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) says the occurrence of the December 1st results generated in a Powerball draw, while uncommon, are not impossible. The results generated, have since received public scrutiny. The NLC says it would like to assure all South Africans that all National Lottery games and methods used to conduct draws undergo a rigorous process of review prior to approval by the NLC.
