INTERVIEW: We now speak to the Gauteng police about hot spots around the province. There were reports of looting in a mall in the East Rand which resulted in some schools being closed. We’ll also ask about the authenticity of circulating videos and text messages to intimidate foreign nationals. We’re joined on the line by Gauteng Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini.

#FamilyInterview Richard Lukunku, and Moneoa are starring in a new award winning local film titled Back of the Moon.

Set in 1958 Sophiatown, the movie tells the story of a famous musician who falls for a gang leader the night before leaving the country for a world tour with a theatre production. It is also the same night before blacks were forcibly removed from Sophiatown.

Back of the Moon also stars Sdumo Mtshali, Thomas Gumede, Lemogang Tsipa, Israel Matseke-Zulu and Siyabonga Thwala

The movie is directed by Academy Award nominee, Angus Gibson 

The film gained huge honour at the Durban International Film Festival, having won the award for Best South African Featured Film. The story incorporates violence, racism and injustice, joined together with an unsuspecting love between the lead characters.

Back Of The Moon premieres in South African cinemas on Friday, 6 September 2019.

Hashtag Enough is Enough is trending on social media following the brutal murders of University of Cape Town student Uyinene Mrwetyana and SA boxing champion Leighandre Jegels. Mrwetyana was bashed with a scale inside a post office in Claremont. Jegels was killed by her policeman boyfriend, who she had a restraining order against. Lihle Msimang, Award Winning Comedian Actress , Writer, Voice Over Artist

Having started out her comedy career in 2011 when she beat the likes of Dillan Oliphant and Gavin Kelly at the Nando’s Comedy Showdown, Lihle has an impressive track record under her belt.  From the stage to TV and the big screen, Lihle Msimang proves that she is a superstar in the making.

She is on tour with her debut comedy special, titled ‘Matemtem’. Her next show is on the 28th of September in Cape Town

What makes a nickname? In this debut comedy special, comedian Lihle Msimang explores the reality of nicknames, and how they come about, by taking you on a trip down memory lane. Having been raised in a township called Meadowlands, Soweto, Lihle studied in suburban private schools, in a time where the country’s democracy was still new, and integration was still a dream. In this show, Lihle Msimang sheds some light on her life, while celebrating the colourful nature of her upbringing in the small township.

Matemtem – a nickname given to Lihle Msimang by her mother whenever she wanted tea, the dishes washed or the TV remote which was only arm’s length away.
