INTERVIEW: The Music Imbizo International Business Conference and Exhibition turns 10 this year and makes its return to the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. The imbizo started yesterday and will run till Saturday. Some of the topics explored during the four-day conference include streaming, copyright law and public relations. As a society we often complain that men aren’t doing enough to try and solve the issues that women are faced with or caused by them but we sometimes don’t give them a voice, an ear or a platform when they try to do so, they aim to achieve exactly that.

Businessman Adam Catzavelos has agreed to pay a 150-thousand rand fine and issue a public apology over his racial outbursts in August last year. He has reached a settlement agreement with the Human Rights Commission in the Equality court sitting in the Randburg Magistrates court north of Johannesburg. The Human Rights Commission brought the application after a self-recorded video of Catzavelos emerged in which he allegedly utters the K-word while on holiday in Greece in August last year. Here is what came out of court a few minutes ago. Catzavelos also publicly apologised during the court proceedings.

The SABC's Chief Financial Officer Yolande van Biljon says the organisation is technically insolvent. She says its dire financial position has made it difficult to produce content that people want. This in turn is driving away audiences and with them potential advertisers. She says several of the SABC's content suppliers have ceased production because they have not been paid. She had told the NCOP's Public Enterprises and Communications Committee that the Corporation is likely to be found to be trading recklessly as it is trading while insolvent. The SABC is briefing the Committee on it financial situation and some of the human resources issues that impact on its sustainability.

He stars alongside his daughter Tshimolo  Modupe, who made her debut in acting when she was six months old in Scandal!

Directed by Sanele Zulu, Losing Lerato is set to open in local theatres at the end of August, and it is funded by Modupe and his wife

The action thriller also features Samela Tyelbooi, Thato Molamu, Connie Chiume, Mandla Gaduka, Don Mlangeni, Nolo Phiri, Fezile Makhanya,  Ayanda Borotho, and Zandile Msutwana, among others.
