Judge Seraj Desai of the Cape High Court, is still delivering judgment in the case of triple murder accused Henri Van Breda. Earlier the judge said it is highly unlikely that an intruder would have been able to enter the De Zalze Estate just outside Stellebosch, where Van Breda's family was hacked to death in January 2015. Only the accused and his sister Marli, survived the attack but she could not testify as she had not regained her memory fully during the trial. She sustained serious head injuries. Security personnel testified that there was no evidence at all that an intruder had been in the property. Judge Desai says the defence was unable to prove that someone had broken into the Van Breda home.

The ANC says it has decided not to amend or change section 25 of the Constitution. The party says it will instead use it in its current form to test the argument that it allows expropriation without compensation. ANC NEC member Ronald Lamola was addressing the media following the party's Land Summit over the weekend.

The son of South Africa's number Andile Ramaphosa will be marrying soon. A delegation is expected to descend on Ghana this afternoon for wedding negotiations with the family of Bridget Rwakairu who is former Ugandan prime minister and presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi's niece.

The Minister of State Security Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba says her department is working on giving more support to the Inspector-General and to do away with any grey areas that make it difficult for him to do his job. She was speaking during a media briefing in Cape Town today following her budget vote. The department has been dogged by many scandals which included a court battle between the Inspector-General and and the former Director-General Arthur Fraser who has since been transferred to the Correctional Services Ministry.

The ANC's Free State elective conference, which is due to start this weekend, remains under threat as a faction of the party seeks to take legal action over credentials of delegates. Provincial Task Team coordinator, William Bulwane has vowed that the conference will go ahead despite attempts by a disgruntled faction to stop it from happening. The faction contesting the legitimacy of the conference says branch delegates need to be audited before the conference commences. Our presenter Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Gregory Nthakisi.

Higher Education Minister, Naledi Pandor and her deputy, Buti Manamela, have embarked on a career advice and guidance campaign at the train and bus terminus in Cape Town ahead of the department's budget vote in Parliament. They're also distributing education material on how to access the National Student Financial Aid Scheme. Judge Dayalin Chetty has dismissed the leave to appeal the conviction of Christopher Panayiotou, and his co-accused, Sinethemba Nenembe, and Zolani Sibeko at the Port Elizabeth High Court. Panayiotou was found guilty of the murder of his wife Jayed Panayiotou who was killed in April 2015, and sentenced to life imprisonment with co accused Sinethemba Nenembe. Zolani Sibeko got a 15 years jail term for conspiracy to commit murder. Olwethu Matsipane reports

Growing disputes among traders at the Fragrance Street Market in Durban have spilled over into court matters where some traders are claiming their right to trade is being violated by other traders. Dozens of traders gathered outside the Chatsworth Magistrate Court, south of Durban in support of traders who alleged that they are being harassed and intimidated. Protestors carried placards that read "big bizz crushing small bizz", and "they threw me out" and sang songs of protest as they awaited the court outcome. Rachel Vadi was in court

Some residents of the North West province, led by the ANC, have embarked on what they call a peace march in Mmabatho aimed at creating reconciliation and the renewal of the province. The march comes after the community in the province embarked on a violent protest last month demanding Premier Supra Mahumapelo to step down from his position because of the alleged corruption surrounding him. Two cash-in-transit vehicles have been bombed during a heist on Atlas road in Boksburg‚ Ekurhuleni today. The scene was littered with debris and the cash vans torn apart by the force of the blasts. Bullet shells were also scattered across the road which has now been closed off by police. We spoke to Anti-Crime activist, Yusuf Abramjee.
