It's day two of the murder trial of Sandile Mantsoe who is accused of killing his 22-year old girlfriend Karabo Mokoena last year. Today Mokoena's younger sister gave her testimony.

ANC Councillor in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, Andile Lungisa, has been found guilty of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Lungisa who appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court was convicted of the assault of DA councillor, Rayno Kayser, with a glass jug during a brawl in the first council meeting in October 2016. His co-accused, another ANC Councillor Gamelihle Maqula was acquitted due to insufficient evidence. Magistrate Morne Cannon described Lungisa as an unreliable witness.

Coal supply challenges at Eskom could potentially be 'as serious, if not worse' than those experienced before the load shedding of 2008.
Reports suggest that 7 of Eskom's power stations don't have adequate coal supply at the moment. The power utility says it's doing its best to avoid load shedding and insists the situation is not an emergency as yet.

Residents of Windsor East have accused the red ants of theft, following evictions in over ten flats and townhouse complexes. The raid seems to be targeting particular units in the buildings.
Many residents had begun to move their belongings onto the streets, before the Red Ants arrived.

The State Security Agency has announced that its Director- General Arthur Fraser has been moved to the Correctional Services Department. The agency's spokesperson Brian Dube says the transfer follows consultations between President Cyril Ramaphosa, State Security Minister Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba and Fraser. Loyiso Jafta has been appointed to act as the agency's Director-General until the appointment process for the post is finalised. The move comes ahead of Inspector-General of Intelligence Setlhomamaru Dintwe's case in the High Court in Pretoria on Thursday, asking it to bar Fraser from interfering with his duties.
