These are the words of the Democratic Alliance responding to threats by the EFF to pass a motion of no confidence in the DA Mayor Athol Trollip. The Leader of the EFF, Julius Malema announced in Parliament on Monday that his party intends to pass this motion against the NMB Mayor, as a form punishment for not voting with them in parliament on the motion of land expropriation without compensation. Investigative journalist, Jaques Pauw, says its absurd that his house in Riebeek Kasteel in the Swartland of the Western Cape was searched by the Hawks. He says members of the hawks linked to the Crimes Against the State Unit arrived at his home with a search warrant. Pauw's blockbuster book - "All the President's Keepers" - was published last year and alleged, among other things, that then President Jacob Zuma received a one million rand a month salary from a benefactor for a few months after becoming president in 2009. The National Assembly has passed a motion on land expropriation without compensation. It was tabled by the Economic Freedom Fighters for debate. The process will now be taken to the Constitutional Review Committee to look at possibly amending section 25 of the Constitution. Tabling the motion before the house, the EFF called for an urgent amendment of the Constitution to allow land expropriation for the majority of South Africans. Abongwe Kobokana filed this report.

Neglected buildings within the City of Johannesburg will soon be expropriated. The City says they are investigating reports of about 265 buildings alleged to have been hijacked. The Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba spoke to Sakina Kamwendo and says it is important that they find new, innovative ways to address the crisis of derelict buildings in the inner city.
