The National Assembly has rejected the DA motion to call for the dissolution of the National Assembly. The motion which was brought by DA Chief Whip John Steenhuisen was only supported by Agang and the COPE. Other opposition parties and the ANC were vehemently against the motion. President Jacob Zuma has called for calm in Lesotho after the army's commander was assassinated. Lieutenant General Khoantle Motsomotso and two other top officers were shot dead in Maseru Zuma says he will meet with Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa - who is the special SADC envoy to the mountain kingdom, to discuss the situation. Additional security has been deployed at the Port Elizabeth home of Nelson Mandela Metro mayor Athol Trollip after he and his wife, Janine, received death threats. In a series of SMS messages Trollip is allegedly called a white pig while his wife is being threatened with rape and murder. Mayoral spokesperson Kristoff Adelbert says Trollip remains undaunted. SARS has hit back at the Tax Ombud by claiming that only less than one percent of all refunds that it processes have been delayed. This after the Ombud released a report stating that it has received more complaints of delays in refunds in the previous financial year since its office was formed in 2014. The ombud classified the delays as being systemic while SARS believes the delays are an exception rather than a rule. The CEO of the Office of the Tax Ombudsman, Advocate Eric Mkhawane says the scope of the delays varies from corporate millions to a few rands to the man in the street. we speak to Group Executive responsible for Tax Relationship Management at SARS, Mark Kingon who says the the findings by the Ombud are not systemic bur rather an exception to the rule.

The ANC Youth League in KwaZulu-Natal has confirmed the death of its former national secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa. The league's provincial secretary Thanduxolo Sabelo says Magaqa died yesterday after succumbing to wounds he sustained when he was shot in an ambush in July this year. Magaqa was a ward councillor in Umzimkhulu. The provincial government has established the Moerane Commission to investigate political killings in KwaZulu-Natal. It will resume its hearings in Durban on the 18th of this month. Police have also formed a special task team to probe a string of political murders in the province. The Constitutional Court to hear the EFF's bid to force parliament to take steps against president Jacob Zuma for failing to uphold the constitution. The EFF applied for direct access to the Constitutional Court on grounds that the speaker of national assembly Baleka Mbethe failed take action against the president following the court's ruling that he violated his oath of office. This is for failing to implement the Public Protector's remedial action that he pay back the money spent on non-security upgrades at his Nkandla home. Senior political journalist Amos Phago reports.

The outcomes of the MKMVA elective conference which elected Kebby Maphatsoe could be nullified. The MK Council led by General Siphiwe Nyanda and the former deputy chairperson of the MKMVA Ike Moroe has called for an all-inclusive conference of former ANC solders. KwaZulu-Natal Social Development MEC, Weziwe Thusi, has urged parents to take care of their children. This comes after four children were killed at Ncukeni village outside Port Edward on the south coast, after their mother left them alone at the weekend.
