FLINTA Behind the Decks: Empowerment Through Music

In this episode of RADIO ELECTRONICA, we shine a light on the FLINTA* DJ - Workshop at Casablanca Jena, a community-driven project that empowers female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender individuals to take their place behind the decks.

The mentors talk about the importance of teaching both technical skills and creative self-management — from crafting a DJ name to understanding social media, negotiating fair fees, and reading a crowd.

Listeners will hear stories of personal growth, passion, and community spirit — from first workshops to full club sets, from hesitant beginners to confident performers. The episode captures the authentic energy of Jena’s electronic scene and celebrates how music can bridge barriers and open doors for underrepresented voices.

The episode concludes with live DJ sets from participants, showcasing the creative results of this ongoing initiative. Upcoming workshop dates are announced for October 1, October 15, and November 12, inviting new participants to join the movement and keep the beat alive.
