Medea Benjamin is an American political activist based in Washington, D.C. She is the co-founder of Code Pink: Women for Peace, an organisation known for its efforts in advocating peace and social justice.

Benjamin and her organisation have coordinated actions against American intervention in the Middle East and the Global South, opposing the illegal w the war in Iraq, drone strikes in Afghanistan, and attempts at regime change in Iran and Venezuela.

Benjamin is widely recognised for her direct activism, notably including the interruption of President Obama's speech in 2013, during which she questioned him about the War on Terror.

she has authored several books, focusing on disclosing American foreign policy including: "war in Ukraine, making sense of a senseless conflict", "kingdom of the unjust: behind the us-saudi connection" and "inside iran: the real history and politics of the islamic republic of iran."
