  • Radio Level Five in conversation with Olaf Winkler
Working with magazines, collages and a variety of other materials, from paper to pencil, all of these have their own meaning in the work of Olaf Winkler. Through the memory and his past growing up in the Ruhr area, Germany, an industrial landscape, we investigate how much this influenced his practice. From the pipelines that could once be seen in this landscape, we move to the drawing of the line, his background in architecture, the possible overlapping of these two disciplines, and how the body might relate to that.
Interviewed by Bas van den Hout and Eitan Efrat.

  • Radio Level Five in conversation with Dries Segers
Can something threedimensional be considered photography? Do photographs admit materiality? Dries Segers answers these questions affirmatively. If he works at the intersection of various media and artistic disciplines, he positively considers himself a photographer. The outcome of his work is always photography to a larger extend. His new show 'No road to Hotel Bellevue' runs from 15 October until 21 November 2020 in DMW Gallery in Antwerp, which takes the concept of 'border trees' as an evocative point of departure.
Interviewed by Bas Blaasse and Olaf Winkler.

  • Radio Level Five in conversation with Emma van der Put
Not just an interview, also a music piece… With the soundscape of her film “Mall of Europe” by Maxime Rouquart as a starting point, videaste Emma van der Put leads us to past, current and future city images and their translation into slowly moving visuals. Trying to grasp these places, the eye is critical but remains a witness, not a judge.

  • Radio Level Five in conversation with Chloé Malcotti
An intriguing question to start: Is there a difference between a filmmaker and an artist who works with film? Chloé Malcotti, considering herself as the latter, is just about to finish a work about an industrial site on the Italian coast. We talk with her about color, capitalism, a beach which is beautiful but dead, and, yes, about what it means to work with film.

  • Radio Level Five in conversation with Ingo Brosch
For Ingo Brosch, the pandemic brought both: as an actor for theater, film and TV he encountered the sudden stop of routines and projects – and he broadened the range of his artistic work. Experiences between disciplines touch notions like the challenge of the white canvas; the various means of storytelling; repetition, authenticity and the singularity of the moment.

  • Radio Level Five in conversation with Bas van den Hout
Maybe Bas van den Hout is, most of all, a collector. Of found objects, literature, images. From there, the Dutch artist works with them, carefully with material and time: “If you come across an object day after day it becomes part of you. It is in the back of your mind. And from there, things can grow, because it is part of your history, part of your memory.” In the end, it is not about appropriation, rather the opposite.

  • Radio Level Five in conversation with Maud Gourdon
As a visual artist Maud Gourdon works with means such as drawing, sculpture and installations – and thereby leads us into a world of possible codes and languages. Marks and connections arise rather than being created. Linked together, they can be read as the origin of a fictional story. • Radio Level Five in conversation with Sophia Holst
Our first guest is Sophia Holst. She is fascinated by how tiny urban details relate to urban changes in general. In her research-based practice, Sophia Holst navigates between art and architecture. Currently, she is working on a project on social housing in Brussels. Now is the time for politics to rethink the idea of social housing.
