Clarence Burke and The Five Stairsteps proudly occupy the pages of most music history books and have been dubbed by music historians as THE FIRST FAMILY OF SOUL. This pioneering soul band etched the archetype that boy bands of yesterday and today use as a template for style and harmony. Look at the Jackson 5, Boys II Men, Nsync, Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, et al, and you will notice the imprint from the arrangements, choreography and vocal styles that the Stairsteps originated.

The Five Stairsteps lived on the music charts with hits like; "O-O-H Child" (a multi-million seller and is still going strong), "World of Fantasy", "You Waited Too Long", "Danger She's a Stranger", and "Come Back".

After eight years of chart topping singles and a string of successful albums, the Stairsteps teamed up with the late great Billy Preston and George Harrison to record "Stairsteps 2nd Resurrection". Music critics wrote about the strength and quality of the album, but most fans never got the chance to see the Stairsteps 2nd Resurrection performed LIVE!

Anwar Robinson is most recognized as one of the top finalists in television's American Idol 2005 competition. Anwar Robinson grew up in Newark, New Jersey and started his singing training at age eight with his acceptance to the Newark Boys' Chorus School. Robinson continued his training throughout his youth and also into college at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton.

Theresa Thomason is a world renowned Gospel, R&B and Jazz vocalist/performer. She's appeared on stage at the Apollo Theater with a winning performance and most recently on Broadway, in Maurice Hines' "Hot Feet". Theresa frequently performs as a guest soloist with Grammy Winner, Paul Winter. She helped produce and starred in "The Sisterhood" a musical stage production with foot-stomping music that brings audiences to their feet night after night. "The Sisterhood" had a very successful 7 year run throughout Europe. Call in to find out what Theresa is doing next - she'll be sharing news Musician Edition first!

Alisha will introduce the listeners of Musician Edition to some great talent and give us an insider's view on what makes these performers tick. Tyrone Corbett is a musician, singer, songwriter and producer. He works and performs with some of the biggest names in show business and it's no surprise why. The Burke family is best known for their mega hit O-O-Child and are noted in music history books as "The First Family of Soul". The 5 Stairsteps started a trend in R&B/Soul and Pop that's still being modeled to this day. Their choreography, harmonies and style have been copied many times over, but not with the innocent charm of these pioneers of music.
