देशात प्रथमच इंडस्ट्रियल डिझायनिंग अर्थात औद्योगिक संकल्पन विषयाचं पद्धतशीर शिक्षण उपलब्ध करून देणाऱ्या 'नॅशनल इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ डिझाइन' (एनआयडी) या संस्थेची १९६१मध्ये अहमदाबाद येथे स्थापना झाली.

Swami Ramanand Tirtha was an Indian freedom fighter, educator and social activist who led the Hyderabad liberation struggle during the reign of Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad State. Swami Ramanand Tirtha was the principal leader of the Hyderabad State Congress. Before taking Sanyasa, his family name was Vyenkatesh Bhagvanrao Khedgikar.

समुद्रमार्गे जहाजांद्वारे प्रवासी व मालवाहतुकीला चालना देण्यासाठी केंद्र सरकारने २ ऑक्टोबर, १९६१ रोजी भारतीय जहाज महामंडळ अर्थात 'शिपिंग कार्पोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया'ची स्थापना केली. प्रथम १९५० मध्ये केंद्र सरकारने सिंदिया कंपनीच्या सहयोगातून ईस्टर्न शिपिंग कॉर्पोरेशन स्थापित केलं व भारत-ऑस्ट्रेलिया व भारत पूर्व आफ्रिका या व्यापारमार्गांवर जहाजवाहतूक सुरू केली. १९५७ मध्ये हे महामंडळ पूर्णपणे सरकारी मालकीचं करण्यात आलं.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian statesman who served as the second Prime Minister of India. He promoted the White Revolution – a national campaign to increase the production and supply of milk – by supporting the Amul milk co-operative of Anand, Gujarat and creating the National Dairy Development Board.Underlining the need to boost India's food production, Shastri also promoted the Green Revolution in India in 1965. This led to an increase in food grain production, especially in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Sir Chintaman Dwarakanath Deshmukh, CIE, ICS was an Indian civil servant and the first Indian to be appointed as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India in 1943 by the British Raj authorities. He subsequently served as the Finance Minister in the Union Cabinet. It was during this time that he also became a founding member of the Governing Body of NCAER, the National Council of Applied Economic Research in New Delhi, India's first independent economic policy institute established in 1956 at the behest of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. After resignation from Union Cabinet he worked as Chairman of UGC(1956–1961). He served as Vice-Chancellor of University of Delhi (1962–67). He was also President of Indian Statistical Institute from 1945 to 1964, Honorary Chairman of National Book Trust (1957–60). He founded India International Center in 1959 and served as Lifetime President of it. He was also chairman of Indian Institute of Public Administration.

He is popularly known in his home state of Mahārāshtra by just his initials as Ga Di Mā. He was awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1951 and Padma Shri in 1969. He has written 157 screen plays and over 2000 songs in his career. He was called Ādhunik Valmiki (the modern Valmiki) of current era due to his composition of Geet Rāmāyan (lit. Ramayana in Songs) as the most notable work. 2019 is celebrated as his Birth Century year. Government of Maharashtra hosts various events and festivals to grace the occasion.
William Edward Boeing was an American aviation pioneer who founded The Boeing Company in 1916. Bertha Boeing was the daughter of Howard Cranston Potter and Alice Kershaw Potter. Through her father, she was a descendant of merchant bankers Alexander Brown, James Brown, and Brown's son-in-law and partner Howard Potter; and through her mother, the granddaughter of Charles James Kershaw and Mary Leavenworth Kershaw (a descendant of Henry Leavenworth). स्वातंत्र्यप्राप्तीनंतरही १४ वर्षं पोर्तुगीजांच्या अमलाखाली राहिलेला भारताच्या पूर्व किनाऱ्यावरील गोवा, दीव व दमणचा भाग भारत सरकारने केलेल्या सैन्य कारवाईनंतर म्हणजे १९ डिसेंबर, १९६१ रोजी मुक्त झाला. सुमारे ४५० वर्षं केवळ बंदुकीच्या जोरावर साम्राज्यवादी पोर्तुगीजांची जुलमी सत्ता गोव्यावर अधिराज्य गाजवून होती. पण गोवा आणि महाराष्ट्रातील आंदोलकांच्या तीन दशकांच्या अविरत चळवळीनंतर व शेकडोंच्या बलिदानानंतर गोवामुक्ती प्रत्यक्षात आली. त्यामुळे, हा विजय केवळ भारतीय फौजेचा नव्हता; तर अवघ्या गोमंतकीय जनतेचा होता.
