          A THIRD ARREST HAS BEEN MADE IN THE DEATH OF A ONE-YEAR-OLD CHILD IN ALLEN COUNTY. GRANDMOTHER OF THE CHILD, 51-YEAR-OLD TINA PRICE.......... WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON CHARGES OF CRIMINAL ABUSE, ADULT NEGLECT, AND ANIMAL CRUELTY AFTER AUTHORITIES DISCOVERED EXTREME PHYSICAL ABUSE AND HAZARDOUS LIVING CONDITIONS AT A COTTAGE DRIVE HOME. THE CHILD’S MOTHER AND HER BOYFRIEND WERE CHARGED LAST WEEK IN THE CASE, AFTER THE CHILD WAS FOUND DEAD IN THE HOUSE ON JULY 27TH.  THEY REMAIN INCARCERATED AT THE SIMPSON COUNTY JAIL.  
         
          A LOGAN COUNTY GRAND JURY HAS INDICTED A RUSSELLVILLE MAN IN CONNECTION WITH A FATAL 2025 HEAD-ON COLLISION. 24-YEAR-OLD DEKAMREN TERRY FACES CHARGES INCLUDING SECOND-DEGREE MANSLAUGHTER AND ASSAULT. PROSECUTORS ALLEGE TERRY WAS SPEEDING IN THE WRONG LANE ON ROUTE 100 WHEN HIS TRUCK COLLIDED WITH A CAR, KILLING TWO MEN AND INJURING TWO CHILDREN.

          A TODD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS EMPLOYEE WAS ARRESTED SATURDAY AFTER ALLEGEDLY PROVIDING ALCOHOL TO MINORS. 40-YEAR-OLD RENEE’ DANIELLE GLASS FACES CHARGES INCLUDING WANTON ENDANGERMENT AFTER ADMITTING TO GIVING VODKA TO JUVENILES LAST FRIDAY EVENING. AUTHORITIES SAY AT LEAST TWO OF THE MINORS WERE HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT.

Funeral arrangements are currently being planned in New Rochelle.

On state highways, a major statewide law enforcement crackdown on speeding officially kicks off today. Sponsored by the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, "Speed Week Two" runs through August ninth with New York State Police and local departments deploying high-visibility patrols along major corridors. State troopers issued over fifty-six thousand citations during the summer's first campaign in June, and officials warn there will be zero tolerance for reckless driving.

Tragedy struck in Greene County over the weekend, where a twelve-year-old child was killed and a ten-year-old remains in critical condition following a utility vehicle crash in Maplecrest. TO RENOVATE THE RECENTLY PURCHASED BLOOMSBURG CHILDREN'S MUSEUM BUILDING. THE UPGRADED FACILITY, ACROSS THE PARKING LOT FROM THE Y'S MAIN BUILDING, WILL QUADRUPLE CHILDCARE CAPACITY FROM 25 TO 100 CHILDREN AND OFFER INFANT CARE FOR THE FIRST TIME.  STATE SENATOR LYNDA SCHLEGEL CULVER AND STATE REP. ROBERT LEADBETER WERE INSTRUMENTAL IN HELPING SECURE THE STATE GRANT.  

          BLOOMSBURG TOWN COUNCIL HAS PASSED A SIX-MONTH MORATORIUM ON NEW DATA CENTER AND ENERGY FACILITY APPLICATIONS WHILE OFFICIALS DRAFT ZONING REGULATIONS. Bail has been set at one million dollars for a retired Pennsylvania State Trooper charged with third-degree murder and vehicular homicide. Fifty-five-year-old Thomas Edward Reed of Lanse is accused of driving under the influence and causing a July crash in Clearfield County that killed two people and critically injured a third. District Attorney Ryan Sayers highlighted concerns over Reed’s actions following the crash, while defense attorneys argue his bail is unconstitutionally high.

Commuters in DuBois should prepare for major traffic detours starting at six o'clock this morning. Beaver Drive will be completely closed to traffic between Division Street and Shaffer Road from Monday mornings through Thursdays each week to accommodate a major city paving project. City officials say the road will reopen on weekends, with the weekly closures continuing until around the start of the school year.

And a unique new family-friendly business is coming to DuBois. Ronnie's Sandbox held its ribbon-cutting on Midway Drive and is preparing for its official grand opening on August fifteenth. The veteran-owned indoor play center features a six-hundred-square-foot indoor sandbox filled with clean, non-toxic play sand for local children.

Law enforcement officers across the region are searching for a thirty-seven-year-old convicted felon who was mistakenly released from custody in Erie County. Dylan Anthony Bera of Waterford was accidentally freed from the Erie County Prison shortly after charges in an unrelated case were dismissed—despite recently receiving a three-to-seven-year sentence for a brutal kidnapping and assault in Crawford County. District Attorney Paula DiGiacomo says an emergency warrant has been issued to get Bera back behind bars.

In local politics, United States Representative Mike Kelly and Crawford County Veterans Services will host their annual Veteran Resource Fair this Thursday at the Downtown Mall in Meadville. More than fifty organizations will be on hand from eleven a.m. to three p.m. to help veterans and active-duty service members access healthcare and earned benefits.

And the Cochranton community gathers tonight for the twenty-twenty-six Junior Miss and Miss Cochranton Pageant. Doors open at six-thirty p.m. at the Cochranton Community Church, with ten local contestants competing for the titles starting at seven.

A Chicora woman is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing more than twenty thousand dollars from the Butler Girls Softball Booster Club. Authorities say forty-eight-year-old Nicole Karenbauer misused her role as booster treasurer to make nearly forty unauthorized transactions, using funds for online gambling, retail purchases, and personal money transfers before checks began bouncing. Karenbauer faces theft charges and has a preliminary hearing set for later this month.

In Lawrence County, a contractor from Ellwood City is facing home improvement fraud and theft by deception charges. State police say fifty-five-year-old Robert Connors accepted seventy-five thousand dollars for a home remodeling project in Harmony, cashed the checks, and then completely failed to respond or perform the work.

And in Youngstown, police continue to investigate a broad-daylight homicide on the city's south side. Detectives believe a twenty-year-old man was targeted when he was shot multiple times near West Indianola Avenue before collapsing inside a nearby auto dealership.

An Ithaca man has been sentenced to up to seven years in state prison following a high-speed, drug-and-alcohol-fueled crash that killed a seventeen-year-old passenger. A Schuyler County Court judge handed down the maximum sentence to nineteen-year-old Michael Blake Junior, who admitted to driving over ninety miles per hour while impaired before smashing into a tree in the Town of Hector last September.

Meanwhile, a massive fourteen-and-a-half-million-dollar environmental cleanup is set to begin this month at Denison Park in Corning. The Department of Environmental Conservation will oversee a multi-phase excavation to remove soil contaminated with historical glass manufacturing waste, replacing topsoil across the thirty-three-acre site over the next year.

A Steuben County grand jury has indicted a man on second-degree murder and multiple felony charges following the brutal rape and death of a ninety-year-old woman in Corning. Prosecutor Brooks Baker says Jonathan Rivaldo—who had been released from prison just days before the assault—also faces counts of first-degree rape, burglary, and victim intimidation. Rivaldo remains held without bail at the Steuben County Jail.

In Hornell, drivers face road closures and heavy traffic delays starting at seven o'clock this morning. The Department of Public Works is milling six major city streets—including Genesee, Collier, and School streets—with no street parking permitted during daytime construction through Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Steuben County has accepted nearly one-point-six million dollars in state grant funding to replace twenty miles of aging guiderails. Officials say the infrastructure project will target County Routes 11 and 119 to reduce the severity of run-off-the-road crashes without using local tax dollars.
