Radio Snooker with Nick Metcalfe

Ronnie O'Sullivan was asked whether he had crossed paths with Stan Moody and Liam Pullen at this World Championship following his first round victory over He Guoqiang at the Crucible.

And O'Sullivan made a big prediction for Moody...

David Gilbert told Phil Haigh and I on the Talking Snooker podcast in 2024 that he thought snooker was boring. Following his defeat to Ding Junhui at the World Championship, I asked Gilbert whether he still thought that.

As you can imagine, David had plenty to say. And if you'd like to respond to any of it, please do tweet me @RadioSnooker or email [email protected]

I spoke to Mark Allen during his press conference following his first round victory over Zhang Anda at the World Championship. Allen says he believes the pockets are tight at the Crucible.

I spoke to Liam Highfield during his press conference following defeat to defending champion Zhao Xintong at the World Championship.

Simon talks to me about the new Crucible deal and how the arena might look after the rebuild following the 2028 tournament.

There's also talk about playing conditions and next season's events. Any reaction from you to this interview or anything you're hearing on Radio Snooker would be most welcome - please tweet @RadioSnooker or email [email protected]

I spoke to WPBSA chairman Jason Ferguson at the Crucible on the eve of the World Championship.

Jason talks to me about his own memories of the late John Virgo, discusses the Crucible deal and the prospect of snooker in Saudi Arabia next season.

I was delighted to be joined by snooker fan Alyssa Walsh here in Sheffield on Crucible Eve.

Alyssa talks to me about her love for the sport and what makes the Crucible such a special sporting venue.

Your views on this tournament and your own Crucible memories are always most welcome - tweet me @RadioSnooker or email me [email protected]

Hello from the Crucible Theatre. The World Championship is coming up, and I've been speaking to Shaun Murphy here.

Shaun talks to me about the experience of being at last night's Champions Dinner and sayshe believes the event won't continue if more players don't show up.

I'm departing Goffs, but not before I ask fans here for their memories of the wonderful John Virgo.

Tatiana Woollaston speaks to me at Goffs and I ask her about the prospect of refereeing the World Championship final one day.

Tatiana also refelcts on the experience of refereeing at Goffs and tells me what she thinks about the new Crucible deal.
