Who can argue with that wise motivation from our next guest, actor/director/writer Joe Lo Truglio? You know Joe from tons of stuff like “The State,” “Reno 911,” and of course NBC’s “Brooklyn 99.” Joe recently wrote and directed “Outpost” a horror movie set on a mountain outpost in Idaho. Radio Zamunda’s own Ato had a role in this film and had such a fantastic time working with Joe that he had to drag Joe on to rap about it. Such a great conversation. Jordana and Sean Williams (a director and an actor/musician/audio engineer respectively) are two of the creative forces behind Gideon Media, a production company focused on crafting riveting science-fiction and horror stories for the audio drama space. Their current project is the binge-worthy science-fiction podcast “Give Me Away” (written by past Radio Zamunda guest Mac Rogers). All we can say is that you need get that ‘ish in your earholes right now. Oh and when you listen, you may even recognize the voice of Radio Zamunda’s own Ato! We got a treat for ya.  Episode one OG guest; filmmaker, actor, musician and producer Skinner Myers is back and he's anything but asleep.  Oh and by the way, he can now add "professor" to his list of achievements as he's now teaching cinema studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Skinner is currently touring the film festival circuit with his new film "The Sleeping Negro." We're not going to bother describing the plot nor the process of making "The Sleeping Negro" because it won't come close to hearing Skinner tell it...

Look there's no other way to say this so we'll just cut to the chase... Skinner is a genius.  His talents are prodigious.  His work is muscular and merciless.  Skinner doesn't look to please.  He looks to cajole, challenge and activate his audiences. His ambition is simply to redefine the language of black filmmaking. To quote Skinner: "I want to use my cinema as a weapon."  ...Indeed. Please listen and be activated.

Perry Klebahn and Jeremy Utley are adjunct professors and Co-Directors of Executive Education at Standford's d.school.  Together they teach "Leading Disruptive Innovation" which is described as a course "that teaches the coaching and leadership skills needed to drive good design process in groups."  As potentially prosaic as that sounds, their methodology is quite iconoclast.  Gone are the staid business plans and drab Powerpoint presentations traditionally used to motivate entrepreneurship.  Perry and Jeremy are looking to inspire.  More to the point, they are looking to facilitate and cultivate inspiration as a discipline in order to unlock the creativity that exists in all of us.  Afterall creativity is not magic. It is simply a solution to a problem.  The solution can be anything from a novel to a song to the Theory of Relativity or maybe even a pair of innovative snowshoes...  Join us for a wide-ranging and truly inspiring conversation.
