  • RadioRadar+ Podcast 51: PS4 Pro vs Scorpio, and unearthing so much Dragon Quest

The Big Topic: Comparing the PS4 Pro and Xbox’s Project Scorpio, and examining the current TV hellscape

Further Discussion: All things Dragon Quest
    What we’re into: Hate-watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

We don’t normally get into the tech weeds like this, but we brought along news expert Connor Sheridan to guide us through a comparison between the PS4 Pro and Microsoft’s Project Scorpio, as well as the current consumer television hellscape. If you’re confused about the difference between 4K and HDR, and need advice on whether or not you should buy a new TV right now, this should (hopefully) help out. We also discuss the current glut of Dragon Quest games, including the 3DS remake of the incredibly lengthy seventh entry and the recently released demo for Dragon Quest Builders. And lastly, we close out the show with a discussion of why we can’t stop hate-watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

  • RadioRadar+ Podcast 50: Exploring an MMO bounty with Destiny and World of Warcraft

The Big Topic: Destiny’s new expansion, Rise of Iron

Further Discussion: What World of Warcraft looks like 12 years later
What we’re into: Forza Horizon 3’s… uh… horizons

It’s an MMO bonanza this week, as we dig into not one, but two big online games released in this. First up is Rise of Iron, Destiny’s (ostensibly) final bit of content before it’s replaced by whatever the heck Destiny 2 is. We then tap resident World of Warcraft fiends Sam Prell and Anna Washenko to discuss recent expansion Legion, and how much World of Warcraft has changed since its beginnings in 2004. Lastly, we discuss Microsoft’s solid open-world racer Forza Horizon 3, and whether or not it’s possible to be truly excited about an arcade racer any more.

  • RadioRadar+ Podcast 49: Cutting through the For Honor alpha, dissecting The Last Guardian’s old school feel

The Big Topic: For Honor’s surprisingly good alpha

Further Discussion: Lucas’ preview of The Last Guardian and Sam’s review of Recore
What we’re into: Tokyo Game Show!

Alright, folks, now the moment you’ve been waiting for: an in-depth discussion of Drive Girls, the game from the makers of Bushido Blade where anime girls turn into cars! Wait, no. No-one wants that.

Well, speaking of Bushido Blade, we do talk about the impression For Honor’s recent closed alpha left on us. We’ve also got some hands-on game talk, as Lucas dives into his preview of The Last Guardian, and Sam laments his time spent reviewing Recore. Lastly, we discuss some of the highlights from Tokyo Game Show 2016 – did you know that Death Stranding will be an open-world game with online elements?

  • RadioRadar+ Podcast 48: Do we need the PS4 Pro?

The Big Topic: The PlayStation 4 Pro and Super Mario Run

Further Discussion: Hands-on with Final Fantasy 15 and World of Final Fantasy
What we’re into: Patchwork, Picross 3D Round 2

After the lull of Labor Day weekend, video games are back with a vengeance, baby. In a single day we got announcements for the PS4 Pro, Sony’s new console meant to cater to hardcore videophiles and tech obsessives, and Super Mario Run, an endless-ish runner designed by Nintendo for mobile devices – and we dig into their place in the industry and what they mean for their respective corporations. David Roberts reports on his lengthy hands-on time with Final Fantasy 15 and World of Final Fantasy, and we gush about the brilliant simplicity of portable games like Patchwork and Picross 3D Round 2.

  • RadioRadar+ Podcast 47: The upcoming games you might not know about

The Big Topic: The games of fall 2016 that you might not know about

    Further Discussion: Reader mail!
What we’re (not) into: The Revenant

With Labor Day weekend and PAX Fever in full effect, the GamesRadar+ crew is kind of all over the place this week. We open the show discussing the very beautiful and very frustrating Oscar winner The Revenant, and move right along into a discussion of the upcoming fall games that may not be on your (I’m so sorry) GamesRadar, as well a few bits of reader mail.
