It's another Special guest, this time it's Kevs cousin Michael from Glasgow that joins us. He is a movie buff and has also been in the movie business as an actor. He is a big inspiration for Kev when he was growing up, influencing his taste in martial arts and getting into specific types of movies. We have all been to the cinema this week to watch Furiosa and had a great time with it so we all discussed what we enjoyed and then deviated onto answering Gareths questions regarding accents.
We discuss James & Drews London trip to do axe throwing and watch Jared Leto play the London 02 with his band 30 Seconds To Mars. Kev provides us with a few new Movie News and a tongue twister for Drew. We then answer a question from the audience where we received a voice note from Gareth.
We start very unseriously but with style. I mean...zero style. We talk about Drive and other seriously cool yet violent movies. We go dark on some subjects, get deep into a few areas such as animals and kids. We end by bringing up True Crime documentaries which are a tough watch. In the middle Kev brings up the time he photographed Drew in London, sounds normal but wait u you hear what he was wearing.
Drew starts us off on a disturbing topic which makes us laugh with disgust. Kev is off to a gig this week and he shows us an old photo from 2004 which was the last time he saw the band live. We discuss Movie News as usual but not before complaining about cinema snacks and noisy eaters. James is appalled by a tiny Apple Pie and Kev is appalled at the age of Chris Hemsworth. We discuss previous films of Chris Hemsworth and Any Taylor-Joy as we're off to see Furiosa the following day.
Our 'Cinema Selection' this week is Kingdom of The Planet of the Apes which Kev & Drew has seen and we give our thoughts. Then we answer questions from the audience as the frequently mentioned friend Shed (Sara) has sent us one in which makes us think. We end with Movie News of which there are lots that Kev tries to get through without too much deviation which as we know, can be a struggle. In amongst all that we bring up fighting with a cheese grater, ScorseseMum and Drew struggles to pronounce Megalopolis.
We start by Kev telling us about an audio book he's listening to and showing us a couple of new vinyls he has received and discussing music. James continues his 'Show and Tell' by telling us about what he was up to earlier that day which doesn't sound like much fun. We reminisce about when we were younger James used to do inline skating, Kev and Drew used to do some BMXing and the injuries we sustained. We finally get onto the subject of movies and discuss White Men Can't Jump, Jackass and CKY2K and air a voice note from WhatsApp live on air.
We discuss the latest Movie News and get distracted by cats. James has an upcoming date so we try to find out the plan. Kev tells us about a unique movie experience regarding '10 Rillington Place' which he forgets the name of during the show. We give our weekly recommendations of what to watch and what not to watch and end on a heated debate bringing up Baby Reindeer again and also do the worst Scouse accents you've ever heard.
The Memo is sent out to all wear beige/grey! Not really but you'd think we were trying to colour co-ordinate our t-shirts. Kev went to see the new John Krasinski & Ryan Reynolds movie about Imaginary Friends and gives his thoughts which takes us down a wormhole of Animated movies. We discuss our favourites and find out that the Pixar movies are all interconnected.
Following on from last week's Horror Special we start with a Horror Quiz to see what information we retained. Kev & Drew review the new Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt Blockbuster 'Fall Guy' and the importance of it promoting the stunt community, then we discuss many subjects including music starting with a rock documentary on Disney + and debate which band was the most rock & roll.
