39: "A Tragic Car Accident, Elon Gets DOGEd, Casino Royale, & A Call for National Service
Welcome to episode thirty-nine of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:
1) A reckless driver with 786 traffic violations tragically killed a mother and her two daughters in Brooklyn in a car accident. The driver's mental health issues and driving record were never addressed by NYC officials, which once again has resulted in death. NYC zealously prosecutes law-abiding citizens who violate the newly enacted composting rules while letting dangerous people loose on the streets, which is further testament to their incompetence.
2) Elon Musk has become a highly unpopular and polarizing figure, and despite spending $21 million in a Wisconsin Supreme Court race, the far-left candidate won substantially in a state Trump originally won. Republicans in Congress and internal White House staff have grown to loathe him and the damage he is doing to the federal government. Finally, Trump has announced he will soon be going back to his businesses, which are heavily financed by the Chinese Communist Party. We don't wish him well.
3) Casino developers in NYC have to go through a legal leviathan to obtain licenses, so they propose generous community service initiatives to impress the New York bureaucrats. Regardless, allowing legalized gambling in our communities is a further reflection of New York's decline under the failed Democrat leadership.
4) In light of the crisis America's youth is facing and the spiritual decline that pervades throughout our nation, we discuss the merits of a national service program as a means to re-engage our youth. Unfortunately, we don't expect the current president to take on this initiative, as he is too busy allowing a Nazi-saluting billionaire to run rampant in our government.

Overcoming the Controller Saboteur & Mastering Problem-Solving as a Business Owner
In this episode, we dive deep into the impact of the Controller saboteur on business owners and their teams. We discuss how a need for control can stifle growth, prevent effective delegation, and create unnecessary stress. We also explore how shifting from a controlling mindset to a curious and open approach can improve leadership and team dynamics. Additionally, we break down the importance of problem-solving in business and how the most successful entrepreneurs embrace challenges rather than avoid them.
Key Takeaways:
• Recognizing Your Saboteurs: Many business owners struggle with the Controller saboteur, which can hinder their ability to delegate, accept feedback, and foster collaboration.
• The Antidote to the Controller Saboteur: Remaining curious and open to learning helps counteract the need for control and allows for better decision-making and team involvement.
• The Impact on Others: Controlling tendencies don’t just affect the individual but also impact employees, stifling their ability to contribute and collaborate effectively.
• Breaking Through Comfort Zones: Business growth requires continuous evolution, stepping out of familiar roles, and embracing new challenges.
• The Transition to Leadership: When business owners finally have an efficient team, they often struggle with their new role, sometimes self-sabotaging by creating unnecessary problems.
• Managing Money Issues: Entrepreneurs often experience financial stress when they stop doing what initially made them successful. Staying focused on revenue-generating activities is crucial.
• The Importance of Problem-Solving: Business is about solving problems. The best entrepreneurs develop systems to assess and address problems efficiently rather than getting overwhelmed.
• Handling Business Transitions: Transitioning from one level of success to the next requires maintaining core business activities while also adapting and growing into new responsibilities.
• Planning for Success: Business owners should anticipate potential challenges and create strategies to handle obstacles as they arise, rather than reacting in crisis mode.
Actionable Steps:
1. Assess Your Saboteurs: Identify if you have controlling tendencies and how they may be impacting your business.
2. Practice Curiosity: Challenge yourself to seek feedback and remain open to learning from others.
3. Empower Your Team: Allow employees to take ownership of their roles so you can focus on strategic growth.
4. Stay Financially Disciplined: Don’t create unnecessary expenses just because your business is growing—stay focused on generating revenue.
5. Embrace the Problem-Solving Mindset: Shift your mindset from “problems are overwhelming” to “problems are opportunities.”
6. Plan for Transitions: Make intentional plans for growth rather than assuming success will continue without change.

38: Hapless Democrats, Greenland Buffoonery & Trump's Orwellian Quagmire
Welcome to episode thirty-eight of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:
1) The Democrats' historically low approval ratings and the disastrous leadership of Senator "Reptile" Schumer and the embarrassing spectacle of him folding like a house of cards over the GOP's budget and continuing resolution. We also discuss Gavin "Snake" Newson and the pathetic crew of 2028 presidential candidates, which includes Tampon Tim Walz and hapless Mayor Pete.
2) The assault on Greenland by Trump and his cronies, including a visit by Vice President J.D. "Piglet" Vance, and the complete absurdity of this land grab that is counterproductive to our national interests.
3) How Trump and his team's use of fear tactics and lies to achieve insignificant results is consistent with the portrait drawn of a totalitarian state in George Orwell's 1984. Examples include assaults on judges, law firms, and artistic institutions, which have occurred through the use of a legally questionable executive order.

37: Stranded Astronauts Rescued, Trump & Perverted Tidbits
Welcome to episode thirty-seven of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:
1) The dramatic rescue of the astronauts who were stranded in space and what a marvelous achievement that was from a scientific perspective, at least according to Stu. On the other hand, David was thankful for the substantial amount of money SpaceX has raised from Chinese investors, speculating about who Musk is beholden to.
2) Several analogies were discussed between the early days of Hitler's regime and Trump's, including the stifling of dissenting voices, attacks on academic freedom, and the undermining of artistic endeavors through propaganda and fear. There is also a discussion of Musk's affinity and defense for genocidal leaders like Mao, Stalin, and other controversial leaders, as well as his infamous Nazi salute.
3) On a lighter note, Stu shares some stories he came across that are rather salacious.

LinksWelcome to episode thirty-six of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:
1) Lee Zeldin's mismanagement of the EPA and his plans to restate the agency's mission to further the interests of polluters.
2) The bizarre antics of the parasitic migrant Elon Musk and how his polarizing behavior and dishonesty undermine any legitimate efforts to make the federal government more efficient, and Trump's demeaning of the presidency by hawking Teslas, a poorly made car, in front of the White House.
3) The use of masks at protests where students and others are harassed as a means to cover the identity of the perpetrators and how New York is considering laws to prohibit such behavior.
4) How the banning of DEI by Trump is being used by his acolytes to silence dissenters in the tradition of Stalin and Hitler.
5) The strange case where, at a track and field competition, an athlete was hit by a baton-wielding participant, and how criminal charges are now being considered.

In this episode, Tom and Adam dive into a common challenge business owners face—achieving success but still operating as if they’re struggling. Many entrepreneurs have built thriving businesses, yet they hesitate to fully embrace their success, still holding onto old fears and habits from when they were starting out.
Using an insightful “new computer” analogy, they break down why some business owners metaphorically leave their new, upgraded system in the box, afraid to use the resources and time they’ve worked so hard to earn. They also explore how stress and uncertainty can trigger default behaviors, causing business owners to revert to outdated mindsets.
Tom and Adam also discuss the importance of communication in partnerships—both in business and at home. They highlight how many entrepreneurs fail to align expectations with their spouses, families, and business partners, leading to unnecessary friction. The conversation touches on why business growth requires not just internal change, but also open dialogue and recalibrated relationships with those around you.
Key Takeaways:
✅ You’ve built it, now use it! Many entrepreneurs have grown their businesses but still act as if they’re struggling. It’s time to open the metaphorical "new computer" and leverage your success.
✅ Default mode vs. upgraded mode: Stress often makes business owners revert to outdated habits. Recognizing this can help prevent self-sabotage.
✅ The power of expectations: Unspoken expectations can cause frustration—both in business and personal relationships. Clear communication is key!
✅ Permission vs. forgiveness: Too many business owners make big decisions without consulting their partners and then ask for forgiveness later. Proactive communication prevents unnecessary conflict.
✅ Entrepreneurs and communication challenges: Business owners need to adapt their outreach methods and recognize that different clients prefer different ways of communication.
