  • David & Stu... Unhinged! - Episode 29

    Mayor Bass' Broken Promise, NYC's Unnoticed Landmarks, Kathy Hochul's Congestion Pricing Flip Flop & the Power of Private Philanthropy

    Welcome to episode twenty-nine of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:

    1) An update on the tragic LA Fires, how Mayor Karen Bass flagrantly broke her promise not to engage in foreign travel, and her praise of Fidel Castro as a "champion of social justice."

    2) Stu recounts what he encounters as he strolls NYC streets, including a plaque commemorating Union soldiers.

    3) Kathy Hochul's outrageous flip-flop on congestion pricing and how it is merely another tax on the working class that will be used to subsidize the losses from fare evasion that the Democrats won't prosecute or punish.

    4) Eugene Lang's private philanthropy and how he helped underserved communities obtain higher education.

  • Film Fights With Friends - Episode 20 | Larry Rosenthal

    Larry Rosenthal is a SAG/AFTRA award winner and four-time nominated stunt coordinator/performer. He won for Best Stunt Ensemble on the television show 24, starring Kiefer Sutherland. He has been stunt performing for over 25 years and coordinating for 15. Among his coordinating credits are Austin & Ally (Disney), Pretty Freaking Scary (Disney), and Warped (Nickelodeon). Stunt coordinating young performers can be a challenging undertaking, which Larry breaks down in great detail in this interview. Extensive fight scenes are rare in children’s television; however, one particular fight scene in Cousins for Life (Nickelodeon) provides the starting point of this interview. A Governor of the Television Academy’s Stunt Peer Group, he has been a member of the group since its inception and has served on its executive committee on and off for the past 10 years. When not stunting, Larry runs and plays in the stunt softball league and enjoys hiking, biking, the beach, and working on old cars.

  • Film Fights With Friends - Episode 19 | Running Scared

    Critics universally panned Wayne Kramer’s box office flop Running Scared (2006). Top critics on Rotton Tomatoes rate the film at bleak 27% while fans give the film a superior 79% rating. On IMDB, it is Kramer’s highest-rated film, with a respectable 7.3 stars. With standout performances by Paul Walker (The Fast and the Furious), Vera Farmiga (Up In the Air, The Departed), then unknown Cameron Bright (the Twilight Saga), and Chazz Palminteri (A Bronx Tale), Kramer’s gritty screenplay is brought to life in a twisted tale that references Grimm’s Fairy Tales, Brian De Palma, and John Wayne. Paul and Steve revisit the film’s graphic shootouts, car chases, and fight scenes, weighing in on the big question: Who got it right? The critics or the fans?

  • David & Stu... Unhinged! - Episode 28

    Welcome to episode twenty-eight of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:

    1) The death of Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul, and Mary, and his connection to Jimmy Carter, who pardoned him for being a sex offender of a minor;

    2) Biden further disgraces the Presidency by awarding Presidential Medals of Freedom to Hillary Clinton, George Soros, and Anna Wintour, which has caused universal condemnation;

    3) A sex scandal involving former Chief of the NYPD, Jeffrey Maddrey, who paid significant overtime to female staff who he was romantically entangled with.

    4) The tragic California wildfires and how the situation has been mishandled by the progressive Mayor, Karen Bass, who left the state for Ghana after being warned that Los Angeles was in danger, and the mismanagement of California's natural resources by state and federal officials, most notably Gavin Newson, a shameless opportunist with no integrity.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Invest in the Right People: As Danny DelVecchio shared, sometimes the biggest leaps forward come from investing in mentors, coaches, and support systems—even when it feels like a financial stretch.
    • Trust the Process: Business success doesn’t happen overnight, but those who commit, put in the effort, and embrace discomfort often see the most growth.
    • Be of Service: Rich Butler reminds us that being a person of value and service will always attract the right opportunities and people.
    • Embrace the Hard Work: As Ross Lawrence says, “Learn to love being uncomfortable.” Business growth requires persistence, resilience, and a strong mindset.

  • David & Stu... Unhinged! - Episode 27

    Welcome to the first 2025 episode of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast. In this episode, David and Stu cover the following:

    1) Jimmy Carter's death and his mixed legacy, which includes his post-presidential humanitarian work and his disastrous presidency that left the Middle East in tatters;

    2) A discussion of Paul Whelan, who was detained in Russia until recently, and how his employer, Borg-Warner, mistreated him;

    3) The U.S. surgeon general's call for warning labels on alcohol in the last gasps of the Biden Administration seems questionable since the liberals seem to ignore the obvious mental and physical health issues caused by legalized marijuana.

    4) Stu's outburst on the New York subway over a passenger who littered that almost caused a riot on the train.
