Another week of local political and environmental news, including some of the results from council's consultation about what we want and don't want in the 2025-2034 Long Term Plan. It seems we don't want traffic lights on the single lane bridge, but did we know enough about it before saying no? Is Zero waste is too aspirational? Why is sustainability low priority? Don't we want to continue?

More local political and environmental news, including the proposal to put closure of the airfield into the long term plan and possibly close it by July next year, followed by transfer of the land back to its pre 1941 owners, a summary of 3-waters issues and proposed alcohol ban extensions.

Another week of local news and interviews. At the end of RTR a recording of an interview with Malibu Hamilton, when he was talking about surfbreak protection and housing. Before that an interview from this morning's Morning Show about neighbours and before that another MS interview about Raglan Club. In the news this week some of the census figures, including a rise in Raglan's population from 3,279 in 2018 to 3,717 in 2023. Council says some of the pohutukawas on Cliff St are suffering from too much traffic driving over their roots and the new buses to Manu Bay are a 2 year experiment. Trans-Tasman Resources' plan to mine sand from the seabed is being fast tracked, some Raglanites spoke to Parliament about government plans to burn more oil and gas and a lot more took part in the Whāingaroa Palestine Solidarity event on Sunday.

More local news, including a tribute to the work done by Malibu Hamilton, the Palestine event coming up at the Old School from 10 on Sunday morning, the extra buses to Manu Bay and Morning Show interviews with the Karioi Project, one of the many groups formed by Malibu's work and with our councillor, Lisa.

Apologies for the silence when the microphone was off for a few seconds, but it worked in the end, starting with Aaron''s interview with the community board chair, followed by a summary of what's on the community board agenda, including some extra buses, though probably not making the best use of $58,142 a year. Then ending with the rest of the Karioi geology interview there wasn't time for last week.

An update on local news, plus a couple of interesting interviews from the Morning Show - Gillian talking about the Palestine film showing at 7pm at the Old School on Wednesday and Oliver talking about the geological history of Karioi and the book he's launching a week on Saturday and the accompanying exhibition in the Old School.

Not much local news this week, but Aaron had an interview about a new amphibious boat in town and I delved back to 2006, when the Chronicle changed from A4 black and white to its current format and all the background to that.
