Ours is a country where everything pious and nurturing is considered to be like a mother - cows, rivers, the earth! Mothers are considered the re-incarnation of GOD. We worship mothers like God and hence take away their right to be humans!

 

Welcome to “un -motherly”. This podcast aims to strike a conversation with the “real-human-mother” living all around us. Mothers who brought us up, mothers that we are today, mothers travelling in metros to reach their offices, mothers staying at home, mothers delivering presentations in posh offices, mothers cooking in other people’s kitchens, mothers getting beaten up by their husbands, mothers battling their mother in laws, mothers trying to be a “good mother”!

 

We will invite all these mothers to share their “un-motherly” kind of stories with us. Stories of how they were judged for not being “good enough”. Stories which will help us accept the mother who is someone with her own dreams and identities which is very different from the “ever-sacrificing goddess” which we are made to believe they are!

 

 

Through these various narratives, we aim to touch the mother who is struggling every day and creating new mothers and fathers!
