This week on Rainbow Rewatch, Daniel and Leliana are finally reviewing a TV show and it's none other than Bill Nye the Science Guy, aka, the thing your science teacher put on when they didn't want to teach! Who else vividly remembers watching it on one of those clunky mobile televisions? Daniel and Leliana talk about this iconic series and try to unpack its impact on our generation, and break down one episode in particular, Season 3 Episode 6 "Evolution" (because evolution is a topic that always makes conservatives mad hehehe). Come hear them discuss dinosaurs, religion's influence on scientific thought, and some *triggering* middle school memories. And make sure you stick around until the end to hear Daniel give Leliana a pop quiz to make sure that she was actually paying attention!

Please bring honor to us all because this week, Daniel and Leliana are revisiting one of their all-time favorites (and arguably one of the best Disney movies), the 1998 animated classic Mulan!!! Out of all the Disney movies, Mulan has generated the most discourse about its presentation of gender and sexuality, and so there is SO MUCH to get into. Daniel and Leliana talk about Mulan as a trans allegory, Li Shang as a bisexual icon (?), and the implications of creating a world where masculinity and femininity are so sharply defined. And by the end of the episode we ask the question: is this movie actually any good? Or does its interesting representation of gender hold it back?

It's been 13 years since Juno's release, but Daniel and Leliana FINALLY understand why it's a critically acclaimed movie! On this episode of Rainbow Rewatch, they dig into this complex film and work through allllllll their late-2000s nostalgia for hamburger phones, orange tic tacs, and wildly insufficient high school health classes. They also consider whether we can (or should) call Juno a queer film in light of Elliot Page's coming out, and the complex relationship between transness and pregnancy.

Woah-oh-oh, this week is a real special episode!!! Daniel and Leliana are reviewing the 2007 film adaptation of Hairspray with special guest Nikki Blonsky (aka, Tracy Turnblad herself). Nikki shares her experience about coming out as queer this past year, and offers her perspective on what it means to live life as your authentic self. The *dolls* then get into elements of camp, drag, and fashion in the film, and discuss the importance of musical theatre as a form of escapism. Make sure you stick around to hear who Nikki would have liked to kiss if Tracy had been gay!

From Hawaii to outer space, this is truly the most intergalactic episode of Rainbow Rewatch yet! This week, Daniel and Leliana review the Disney masterpiece Lilo and Stitch, which is surprisingly stuffed to the brim with queer undertones. They discuss chosen family, cultural appropriation, alien supremacy, and comment on one of the most important debates of the modern era: does the character Pleakley count as transgender representation, or is he simply iconic?

Ever wondered what happens when you mix video games, manga, insecure men, rock & roll, Canada, and Brie Larson? You get Scott Pilgrim vs. the World! This week, the *gals* reexamine this cult classic and try to understand WHY this movie remains culturally relevant today. They also break down the movie's queer narratives, discuss the differences between the original manga and the film, and decide, once and for all, if Michael Cera is attractive.....but you already know the answer is no.
