Just because something is for you in one season of life, doesn’t mean it is for you forever. Sometimes though, it can be hard to let those things go. But remember that you can’t do everything. Every time you say, “Yes,” to something, you are by default saying, “No,” to something else. Many times it’s the important but not urgent things that get dropped. Make sure you evaluate your life periodically to make sure that your calendar lines up with what you really think is important and what is bringing value to your life.

As our kids start heading into adolescence, their relationships with their parents start to change. They will start usually start spending more time with their peers and less with dear old Mom and Dad. What are some things that we can do as parents to stay connected with them as they get older so that the relationship stays strong?
Join me as I chat with Elise Knox, former middle school teacher turned life and wellness coach. Her passion is help parents get through this challenging time with more connection and less struggle. Adolescence shouldn’t be a time that the family just has to get through. Let’s be intentional and work on our relationships.

On today’s episode we talk about why video games (and screens) are so attractive, what happens to our brains when we are participating, and what we as parents can do to help prevent at-risk behavior in our teens. This is something that entire families struggle with from little kids up to adults. Even I was once again reminded that I need to check my boundaries again to make sure I’m not spending too much time on devices.

These days everything is vying for your attention and the attention of those around you. Marketers are paying big bucks to try and capture your interest. We are developing an attention gap. This gap is the space between the attention that is required to reach the goal and the attention that you are currently putting into the achievement of that goal. How should we respond to all of these distractions? Join us as we talk with Wes Woodhouse about how to close the attention gap.
