William Kellibrew IV is a global advocate for civil, human, women, children, and victims’ rights. He is a sought-after speaker on trauma-informed care, violence prevention, and strategic planning. At age 10, William witnessed the murders of his mother, Jacqueline and 12-year-old brother, Tony, in their family living room in 1984, by his mom’s ex-boyfriend. The killer took his own life that day, but not before making William beg for his life at gunpoint. In this podcast, William shares his personal and professional journey of healing and resiliency. From experiencing multiple childhood traumas including domestic violence and childhood trauma, William has emerged as a global advocate and authority on addressing violence and trauma throughout multiple systems and settings.

Barbara Roddin, wife, mother of three children and a grandmother. She will share her experience as a domestic abuse survivor. She will share how she became a widow at 30 years old. Her marriage of 16 years to an abuser; the ongoing harassment and stalking, filing a PFA, taking part in several court hearings over child custody, child support, and the mental abuse of her children.

Why don’t victims of domestic violence leave relationships?  What do assailants do to keep them from leaving? What did you experience? What triggered you to leave? What did Diane learn about her sister after she was killed? What answers did she want to know?

Diane will tell her story about the impact of the murder on her family. How so many feelings and discussions took place afterwards to find anything that might have led to Sue’s murder. In the midst of helping to manage the estate, so much was found that gave some insight to why her sister was brutally murdered by her husband. The questions still linger as to why Sue did not leave her abuser.
