1984 - the year of Big Brother. Also the year for some really cool music. While Big Brother wasn't watching over us, the WTBR-FM archive made sure we had a good time. This episode featured a who's who of artists from 1984 including Public Image Limited, Jefferson Starship, Michael Hedges, the Go-Go's and many more.
In this episode we hop in our shag carpeted van and travel back to 1973 to check out what music we could pull randomly off the shelves of the WTBR-FM archive. We hear some great music from Argent, Ray Charles, The Soul Children, Weather Report, The Strawbs and much, much more. Groovy
1981 was the year that MTV started and changed music forever. Or at least for most of the 80s. We go back to 1981 and listen to some artists that took off thanks to MTV, including Billy Idol and the Ramones. We also hear from Shalamar, the Joe Ely Band, The Rolling Stones and many more. Rock On!
In this episode we go back in musical time to the 1975. This great year for music was also a great year for the WTBR-FM vinyl archive. We were able to pull some great musicians from the wall like The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Eric Clapton, The Who, REO Speedwagon, Ramsey Lewis and many more.
This week we drop ourselves right in the middle of the 80's, and will be listening to music from 1985. Some of the music heard during this show couldn't so more like the 80s if they tried. We hear from such artists as Nile Rodgers, the Stanley Clarke Band, X, the Beach Boys, Blue Nile and many more.
