I was getting a SSMTP authentication failure 535 5.7.8 error on an Ubuntu Linux web server when trying to send password reset emails from a site that was hosted on it. I had to do a couple things, including enabling access from "less secure apps".

I was having a weird file permissions issue with a network share on a Windows server. All the permissions for the file and folder looked good. I needed to look at the Share permissions though, which is a separate little management console.

So there's this website where almost all the pages that you go to end up redirecting you to some other website that is trying to get some ad revenue. This isn't some virus trying to steal information, it's not distributing pornography, it is hijacking web traffic. So, I struggled a little bit, but I figured out what is happening and how to fix it!
