In this episode we travel down memory lane and talk about the days of renting movies at the video store. Kristi’s first rental movie was “Dirty Dancing” while Raul’s was “Porky’s”. Kristi explains how she ended up with a broken toe and cringes at Raul’s terrible insensitive jokes.

In this episode we discuss Kristi’s long week and the three jobs she has performed today as Safety Kristi, Professor Kristi, and Podcast Host Kristi, which are the reasons she is Kranky Kristi. Kristi talks about her field trip with her students to one of the companies she used to work for a few years ago. Raul talks about his recent trip to his hometown of Yuma, Arizona and how he came back feeling under the weather which Kristi swears he brought back Covid. We talk about the upcoming Cornbread Festival that is hosted by Kristi’s workplace Lodge Cast iron. Raul talks about his favorite method for cooking steak on a cast iron. We both discuss the upcoming 5k races and how we are not prepared for them. In this episode we discuss our new audio setup and record our first full video podcast episode. Raul talks about his beloved and departed Min Pin Peter Parker “The Barker”. Kristi gives us her version of the current Ukraine crisis using the analogy of the girlfriend trying to break up with her toxic boyfriend who won’t let her go so she can better herself. Raul gives a historical background of the past events that have led to the current situation in which Putin is trying to rebuild the Soviet Union of the seventies and eighties. Kristi talks about Britney Spear’s 15 million dollar book deal and she is excited to find out about all the dirty laundry. Kristi tells the story about the one beer that got her arrested during her college years.

In this episode we talk about Super Bowl 2022 and our thoughts about the game and halftime show. We both agree that the show was awesome and how it took us down memory lane back to our youthful days. Kristi asks Raul about his Birthday celebration and gives him a hard time about his AARP membership. Raul explains the cause of the current avocados from Mexico shortage and price increases. We talk about the new Netflix special The Tinder Swindler which is based on true events about Simon Leviev who swindled women out of 10 million dollars. We discuss the upcoming HTPG Superhero 5K race that will benefit The Children’s Advocacy Center of Jackson County. Raul talks about his current car problems and his sticker shock after getting the quote for the repairs.

In this episode Kristi surprises Raul with a gift bag full of goodies for his 50th Birthday. Raul talks about his lack of excitement for hitting the big 50 and Kristi talks about how she felt the same way about her 40th birthday. We discuss the upcoming Super Bowl LVI where the Cincinnati Bengals, Kristi’s team, will take on the Los Angeles Rams. Raul discusses his new group “Jeep4LilPeeps” that will be an avenue for giving back to the communities. The main goal of the group will be to enrich the life of children through fundraising, donations, and sponsoring events. We both give our differing opinions on Valentines Day about who and why it should be celebrated, and it appears Raul is out of touch. We play our version of Family Feud where Raul answers 5 questions and tries to score 100 points.

In this episode we go mobile and record our first podcast in Raul’s infamous Jeep Wrangler “Lucille” at Jackson County Park in Scottsboro, Alabama. We catch up on our Christmas and New Year holidays since we have not met for over a month. We both give our opinions on the Season 4 finale of Yellowstone and agree that the last episode was not as good as we expected. We also discuss the last Spider-Man movie “No Way Home”. Kristi tells us about her new side hustle as Adjunct Professor at Chatanooga State Community College. We play our version of Family Feud where Kristi answers 5 questions and tries to score 100 points. Raul discusses some of the shows he has been watching and books he has read over the past month. Raul also struggles to keep Kristi on topic since she becomes distracted by cars passing by.

In this episode we say farewell to The Reverie Playhouse which has been our makeshift recording studio since we started our podcast. This will be our final episode for 2021 and we will begin our hunt for a new place to record. Kristi talks about her upcoming interview at UTC for teaching part time and how excited she is about teaching. Kristi talks about the movie “Unforgivable” with Sandra Bullock which reminds Raul of the podcast “Smartless” that had Sandra Bullock as a guest. Raul talks about the Movie “Mixtape” which brings back Kristi’s memory of a mixtape that her 8th grade boyfriend gave her the day he broke up with her. We play a game of Christmas Gargles, where Raul gargles a Christmas tune and Kristi tries to guess the name of the song.
