You cannot wake up one day when your child is 15 and decided you'll now do the work. You can, I lied, you can, but dont' expect it to be as if you have foundationally set them up to have a good relationship with you.

However! You starting at ANY age, 15...25...40 is better than never. They just want to know, as you heal this relationship, that you're aware, and hear them. That you validate their experience and make the changes to do better, because you now know better. 

I notice children as they grow into adulthood stop having or trying to have relationships with parents because the parents don't have any want to change, or make changes, for a different outcome.

You know I don't edit. So this episode is a part 1 and part 2 because I PUSHED the check mark, not pause. Which created a whole new recording.

This is how  life should be, easy and aligned to your life. Be intentional about what you're doing! I know that the easier I make my podcast, the more likely I am to do it! I don't need a team, I just need to expand, be intentional, and figure it out.

I think it also helps that my mindset is that of a younger parent who has made it this far with a 16, 13 and 13 year old. The different needs each has and the adapting that happens for me and them! I knew my daughter would be homeschooled for middle school.

Once we completed her middle school homeschool time, I knew the boys would be too.

Emotional intelligence isn't taught in school.

Bullying isn't addressed as teachers are at their capacity as is and aren't trained in areas you think they might be. They're of course brilliant, but kept back from their passions through the system.

*** WARNING *** This episode may be triggering. I do not go into  politics but we do discuss my outlook on humanity, the world, the need for unity and that for change sometimes we have to go through the pain, uncomfortable road, that we least expected.

Ever have a catalyst for change not begin with difficulties or tests that we had to push through, lessons to be learned and a complete overhaul of life?

I know for every new beginning in my life, weather a complete shift, or 180, there are times when everything I see, or have, is burned to the ground. From there something powerful, new, full of life, is born!

This episode is going to be hard to listen if you are in a mindset where you're not ready to have hope, or see the good, but at the same time it is so you can grow. Everything that triggers me I take as an opportunity to understand more of myself and what I can do. 

It helps that the last year and a half I have had VERY little, if any, control over what has occurred and that releasing old world ways starts by dismantling it.

We are talking about Intentional Parenting and the education of our children. Not just any education, the emotional and mental education! 

They can learn math, they will learn to read, what we NEED our children to learn, and the generations to come, are going to be taught through observing, leading, and SHOWING them.

Empathy, kindness, compassion, all the good within us that just needs to be fostered and nurtured instead of snuffed out! Along with adults learning to do this for THEMSELVES so they then can help their kiddos.

It's not going to always be easy, parenting, but it gets to be intentional and you put the work in! So pick up a book, learn about stages and phases, find a professional that can guide you, or start your own healing journey, whatever you do get regulated, stop taking it out on your kids, and embrace the now!

Yes, have grace and forgive yourself on this journey of parenting, because no one is perfect, we all make mistakes, but we can all learn to apologize for said mistakes and learn to do better!
