A dark and mysterious figure lurks behind the booth under the heat of the midnight hour in the back room of one of Berlin's most flamboyant clubs....

Homeboy is a Berlin based producer and disc jockey and is a co founder of the infamous imprint House Is OK which has released music by the likes of Roman Flugel, Kornel Kovacs, TCB and many more. He has also etablished a fierce residency at Salon Zur wilden Renate, an institution which is experiencing a new lease of life thanks to the hard work of an invaluable team behind the scenes. Originating from Zagreb he spent many years amidst the Croatian capital spinning between parties and expanding upon his musical education. All roads led to Germany and in the present he remains one of the most intriguing disc jockeys in the city.

Roll up roll up, thou art about to enter the murky depths of the underground. Unit Moebius was once described as as Europe's only true answer to Underground Resistance - a bold claim but not one so far from the truth. The Hague has played a key sound in developing a weighty catalogue of producers and rogue agents whom have released music not for fame, profit or promise but for the sheer brass neck of it and the love. Ferenc E. van der Sluijs, Guy Tavares, Jan Duivenvoorden, Menno Van Os, Richard Van Den Bogaert were the founding fathers of the project but in the present day Jan Duivenvoorden is the sole entity behind the beast.

This weekend we will be joined by Unit Moebius in The Hague for the launch party of The Crave festival in what is set to be a celebration of the West Coast sound. We are delighted to host an exclusive live set recorded at The Crave ADE special in OT301.

Daniela Caldellas is a Brazilian producer based in Barcelona who has embarked upon an intriguing electronic escapade. She has previously appeared on Hotflush however her latest release on the well recognised Permanent Vacation record label saw her up the gears with an emboldened style and a distinct identity. Having grown up with punk she since evolved into the world of electronics, however she brings with her a raw aesthetic and an eclectic edge which definitely still nods towards her past roots. The Terr project was founded in 2016 and it looks as though she might be about to attract wider attention off the back of her latest work.

One to watch we think.

Perhaps one of the most fascinating facets of working for a magazine like ours is in stumbling upon music that you have never heard before being played by an unfamiliar face. This is fundamentally the reason that we all became interested in the first place, unfamiiar faces playing unfamiliar music.

Last month Kate Harahan played at our record shop in Forest Gate as part of a day curated by Nadia Ksaiba, she surprised us with her intricate selection and demonstrated a vast array of musical knowledge and understanding. Based in Edinburgh, music isn't her first line of work, more so a labour of love which she manages to weave amidst maternity reflexology and yoga.

We invited her to deliver a mix as part of our Monday series and she does so in fine style selecting music by the likes of Witch, Hitomi Tohyama, Mike Burns and more.

Marcus Marr remains a pivotal figure in the wider realm of dance music having become a firmly established figure associated with the likes of DFA and beyond. His sound sees him blend intriguing elements of post punk, indie and rock alongside house, techno and electronic influences. He has worked prominently as a disc jockey for many years and has travelled the world as a result having made regular appearances at the likes of Panorama Bar, Razzmatazz and Good Room in New York. He has also collaborated with the likes of Chet Faker and has established a succesful presence within both the underground and current dance industry.

He has just collaborated with a number of disc jockeys on a new remix EP of his work "Familiar Five" with the likes of Prosumer, Justin Van Der Volgen, Gerd Janson and Ara Koufax all featuring.

This site has never been about the biggest names but about showcasing musicality and talent from whichever source it might appear from. As a graphic designer by day Ty Abiodun simply has a deeply rooted love of music... it shows.
