There are few names within electronic music as widely known as that of Boys Noize. The producer and label boss often casts an array of debate as to the relevance of his sound amongst the underground. However, it is difficult to challenge his selection policy in the booth, his tastes more informed than most. This was perhaps most visible on his addition to the fabric mix series which featured music from the likes of I-F, DJ Deeon and more. However, it was still called into question by "heads" if you will.

Now he steps up to our mix series with a fresh selection of tracks designed to ignite, excite and no doubt challenge. What's the point if people aren't talking about you eh?

Lyon is punching above its weight. Not in an overly violent or aggressive fashion but in a self contained manner with progression and depth.

The city has become one of the most musically interesting in France over the past few years with the likes of Le Sucre, Chez Emille and Nuits Sonores all leading the charge. However, beneath the surface you will also find a small number of burgeoning record labels which are helping to push local producers and sounds into the limelight. Juliano is one such producer whom is starting to amass a reputation. As a producer he writes deep, melodically pleasing house with an analogue edge: he is also the founder of That Place records, an up and coming record label with a beautiful aesthetic and an interesting back catalogue. Now based in Berlin he talks about the roots of the label.

Solune is one who may just be about to break through the ranks. As one of the pioneers behind Berlin's Bass Cadet Record store and a producer in his own right his commitment to music is more prevalent than most. This week saw the announcement of a new EP on the London based record label Secretsundaze which is due for release in the coming months. It is a step up for the upcoming producer who has previously ownly released music independently through a label run by himself and fellow record shop boss Etienne Dauta. The pair also work together to produce music as Arcarsenal and have released music on Rue De Plaisance and This Is Not Happening.

Around the middle of last year an odd email chain led us to the introduction of what would go on to become one of the most interesting up and coming record labels of the moment. The music they have released so far speaks for itself, ambient orientated with a balearic edge and eclectic design. It is paired with beautiful drawn imagery and representation, iconic and understated.

There is little back story, little information and little explanation as to the roots of this crew. Many of the artists whom have appeared on the label maintain low profile stature and continue to surprise.
