Born and raised in San Francisco, Dave Aju grew up inspired by the likes of KRS One, The Pharcyde, Moodyman and Cajmere. Such influences have led him on a pursuit through sound and exploration: this has been reflected in his musical output over the past thirteen years. In this time he has formed a close relationship with French record label Circus Company and has since released three full length LP's under their blessing. His early roots lie in jazz and his musical background features drums and piano, such knowledge has led him to a sound which aligns with the more soulful edges of deep house which finds itself more relevant as a genre than ever before.

Founded in 2007, Tempelhof are a duo from Italy who have been making waves since their early days. However, these currents have not been thrashing and wild, rather more peaceful and subdued, much reflective of the music the pair make themselves. This summer saw them release their second collaboration with the much renowned Gigi Masin, a feat in its own right, which few can be said to have achieved. Shimmering electronics and elegant pads feature prominently in much of what they produce as they draw upon ambience and a balearic innocence. We caught up with the duo following theire latest release for Hell Yeah Recordings and talked Mondays.

There is little left to be said about Maurice Fulton. By this point he is now known as arguably one of the most experienced and talented disc jockeys of a generation and has been essential to the expansion of club music and its culture over the last thirty years. His sound sees him tastefully blend funk, soul and eclectic disco selections alongside modern day house and dance music in a manner which most will never be able to achieve. Championed by leftfield scenes and house music aficionado's alike. Next weekend he will take to the stage at Farr festival who we have been lucky enough to collaborate on to gather this incredibly exclusive mix.

Studio 89 know how to party. Since 2011 they have been proving this whilst moving from basement to basement bringing with them an eclectic array of disco, funk, boogie, house, soul and everything in between. Originating in Cardiff they have captured what can be hard to find, the spirit and soul of days gone by. This is evident in the inspiration which they take from the disco era of Paradise Garage and Studio 54. Many have tried and failed to replicate the warmth and sincerity of a scene which vanished years ago, but in all honesty, Studio 89 are as close now to that you might ever find. We caught up with them ahead of Sunfall weekend where they will host Derrick Carter, Honey Dijon and Michael Serafini at Brixton Electric.

12th Isle have become a trademark name amidst the Glaswegian musical underground. As arguably some of the most interesting selectors to emerge from the city in recent years, it seemed only right for them to be represented on site. Fergus Clark is one of the founding members of the crew and has amassed vast musical knowledge for someone of a relatively youthful age. You are as likely to catch him playing spoken word as you are obscure krautrock or early techno records. A selector in the truest sense he has begun to establish a reputation in having been invited to play in France, London and beyond. We caught up with him to talk 12th Isle and more

Since 2014 Banoffee pies have been delivering tasteful records which have remained consistent and enigmatic. Ruf Dug, Mr Mendel, MMT, Wendel Sield, Fyi Chris, Florist and many more have all featured. Upon a dig through their back catalogue it is notable that they have become tastemakers, often ahead of trends and ready to inspire. We caught up with the label to talk music, upcoming life and more.

It would seem that each day a new record label is born, many of them sound the same, the repeated ideology of music as part of a continuous loop. However, it is always refreshing to see a dynamic approach being taken as part of a labour of love. The Astromagnum project isn't focused on branding, trendy subcultures or anything of the likes. It's focus remains on the squeaks, squawks and soundscapes of electronic music and all of it's modular geekiness and glory.
