Quarantine and Protests

On May 25, 2020 George Floyd was killed by police during an arrest for alleged forgery.  The viral video of his killers pinning him down and kneeling on his neck as he cried out for help sparked protests around the nation and later the world.  DysChick and SocaSaySo RANT about how quarantine may have contributed to people of various backgrounds taking to the streets. Kindness "Ontrack" despite Coronavirus

The Coronavirus has impacted restaurants and nightlife.  Despite the current situation, veteran deejay and restauranteur "Ontrack" is using his businesses to give back. DysChick & SocaSaySo invite him to RANT about how he is using his resources to show healthcare workers, the elderly, and people devastated by the virus a little kindness.  Then we RAVE to "Give Thanks" by Grenadian crooner HITZ. Drunk Rant - Corona Can't Stop Caribbean Creativity

In order to stop the spread of COVID-19, governments have issued a "Stay Home" or shelter-in-place quarantine.  This has had a detrimental effect on many industries like travel, hospitality, and nightlife.  With no places to perform, artistes and deejays are taking to the web to still provide positive vibes to their fans. DysChick & SocaSaySo have some drinks and RANT about how Caribbean creativity is still flourishing despite COVID quarantines.  Then we RAVE to "Hold On" by the always innovative Trinidadian soca artiste Erphaan Alves.  Alves created the music video by enlisting his fans' to submit videos of them enjoying the song in their homes.

The Dos and Don'ts of Music Videos

On this episode, we invite master videographer Kordel Fermin of Kordel Fermin Visuals to help us RANT about what artistes should do before investing in a music video.  As a seasoned videographer who has worked with some of New York's major soca influencers like Shorblu Events, Problem Child, and Rant & Rave panelist, Supa Roy, Kordel answers artistes' pressing questions.  When is the right time to put out a music video?  What is a good budget?  What is the most important thing to consider?  Then we RAVE to "Traffic Jam" by Grenada's own Mr. Legz whose music video, shot by Kordel, is a good example of what to do.
