Rate-a-loid

WELCOME TO THE LIGHTNING ROUND. This week we discuss the ZOLA Project, which, because it contains three Vocaloids, we are timing ourselves to make our discussions maximise productivity and chaos. This takes us to discussions of zodiacs, the logistics of widow’s peaks, and how much dating a mummy would suck. Our hosts are under pressure never before seen and are clearly panicking so we hope you love the sacrifice we made for you.

Hello, please come into my Vocaloid dungeon and enter the Miku-place of ideas as we discuss some challenging ideas. From accordions with voices, to full body weak-spots, acapella bloodsport! This week we are covering the Vocaloid Avanna, a Celtic themed Vocaloid with both art and voice from Irish creators and with historic references laser-targeted to hit our host JT. Avanna is possibly one of the more mainstream use, with producers such as Porter Robinson and Griffin McElroy of The Adventure Zone using her in really notable cases. We found ourselves really liking Avanna so I hope you enjoy this episode!

The internet’s greatest heroes make a triumphant return! That’s right your favourite nerds are back to talk shit about anime, vocaloid and video games, bringing our infamous chaotic energies as we discuss Galaco. We’ve both been consuming of plenty of content in the mean-time. JT has Gundam Wing thoughts and controversial overall Gundam feelings, as well as many game thoughts, and Harper been watching Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, bringing a queer reading to it! On the topic of Galaco we discover some fun tidbits about her voice actress, her origin, and all her design inspirations. Take a listen and enjoy our excitement about being back on the recording grind.

Welcome to yet another long-distance Rate-a-loid ep! This week we discuss John Cena’s existential crisis, the sexiness levels of various weapons and our inevitable assassination at the hands of the Yamaha corporation, before getting onto our Vocaloid for the week. Aoki Lapis, one of the most fleshed out Vocaloids we’ve seen so far is here to shock us with having a backstory, a character and a rival sister. Truly a gift has been given to us this week. Take a listen and enjoy.

We are very sorry for the delay in this week’s Rate-a-Loid episode! This is our first time recording from home and I (Jonathan) unfortunately had some mic issues causing a popping noise throughout, and also exported the file incorrectly at first. I’m gonna be real, it’s not the best to hear but it only happens a few times. Very sorry about that!

That being said. welcome to the first long distance Rate-a-loid! Due to social distancing measures we have elected to record from our own homes, meaning audio quality is a little less than usual and we spend a little time finding our feet. Still, I hope you all enjoy the podcast as we talk about Beastars, G Gundam, and of course, the mysterious diva, IA who we really enjoyed having on the show! Hope you’re all taking care out there.

Alright folks strap in for some truly feral recording energy. This episode we talk about Bruno and Clara, the two first Spanish Vocaloids. We have a good time powering through two vocaloids in one episode and somehow still finding time to talk about Mukbangs, the intricacies of horse divorce and bring you the internet on tap. Enjoy?

Hatsune Miku suplex action, reverse gijinkas, and repression of fetishes this episode of Rate-a-loid. Join us as we say terrible terrible things while we review the Vocaloid CUL, a bright red synth with very little substance. The former mascot unfortunately doesn’t offer us much; however, we have an energy this episode that’s worth checking out. Enjoy.
