Current chairman, Pat Deering, was only a chap when Rathvilly won their first every senior football championship title when they beat Éire Og in the 1983 final. Two years later they won again and in 2021 they secured a ninth senior crown and deprived their great Éire Og rivals of five-in-a-row titles.
There have been great days for the Wicklow border club and Pat looks back at the careers of some of the great Rathvilly players who have pulled on a Carlow jersey.
When asked would he run for The Dail again, he says, "Never say Never." He also reflects on working alongside great politicians such as Leo Varadkar, Phil Hogan and Michael Ring.
