Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Welcome to Raven's Readings.
I will be reading to you from The Wendigo, written by Algernon Blackwood in 1910. It’s a novelette about a group of moose hunters in northern Ontario, and a mythical First Nations creature, the Wendigo.
Last episode, the search for Defago seemed to hit a dead end, but there is still mystery and fear around the Wendigo. Is it really just a legend, with the facts readily explained away? This next episode, the last, is longer, with three short chapters. Our next story could be Call of the Wild by Jack London, about an Alaskan sled dog, or The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie, featuring Hercule Poirot. Let me know your preference. We resume our story with all four hunters gathered around the campfire, still searching for answers.
I do readings twice a week. If you subscribe to my Substack newsletter, you'll get notified of my updates as soon as they are ready. If you enjoy this reading or have other classics you'd like to hear, please leave a comment.
Remember that you can manage here which sections of my SubStack you’ll receive emails for—Fiction, Odds and Ends, Political Bytes, Podcastings, Sort of a Journal, or all.
