A little brain dump about feeling lost, questioning your life choices, and wondering what in the actual fuck is going on :') I'm talking about unlearning hustle culture, wanting a soft life, feeling behind while everyone else seems to have their shit together, and trusting that I know who I am outside of the box I was taught to fit into. If you're in your messy middle, trying to build a life that feels like you, this one's for you. A little reminder that you're not behind, you're just figuring it out and sometimes we have to start over again and again until we get there. Love you lots!
Sometimes you just have to leap and trust that the net will be there.
In this episode, I’m sharing the story of leaving Virginia and sending it to San Diego with no plan to take a chance on a career in yoga. From figuring out how to make a living teaching yoga to eventually selling everything and heading abroad, this chapter of my life taught me what can happen when you stop waiting until you feel ready and start trusting yourself.
PSA to stop waiting for the perfect moment and just send it.
So… how did I get through it?
In this episode, I’m sharing the practices and things that helped me navigate the first year of coming off Lexapro. Meditation, movement, nature, journaling, and leaning on people I could trust.
These things didn’t magically make everything better, but they were tools to help me stay grounded while my brain and body were adjusting through all the fuckery. I’m sharing what helped me reconnect with myself, listen to my emotions, and slowly find my way through the shitshow.
As always, this is my personal experience, not medical advice. Thanks for being here! xox
Welcome to the shitshow. In this episode, I’m sharing what it was like coming off Lexapro after nearly a decade on it. Insomnia, brain fog, anxiety, and LOTS of crying. I’ll share the hardest moments of my first year off medication, the practices that helped me through it, and the small wins that I'm super proud of. It was messy as hell, but somewhere in all of it, I started finding my way back to myself.
After nearly a decade on Lexapro, I finally got to a place where I felt like it was time to let go.
In this episode, I’m sharing the experiences that eventually led me to make that decision. From changing my relationship with alcohol, incorporating daily meditation, moving across the country, and experiencing some big downloads after six weeks in Nicaragua.
I’ll also share part of this story I’ve been nervous to talk about. Why I ultimately decided to come off Lexapro without professional guidance, and why I don’t recommend doing it the way I did.
This was the beginning of a new chapter and it was also the beginning of one hell of a ride. In the next episode I'll share what an absolute shit show coming off meds was. Thanks for being here. <3
In this episode, I’m sharing what my experience on Lexapro was actually like.
No more low lows, but also goodbye to the beautiful highs. Lexapro helped pull me out of a really dark place and gave me the stability I needed. Over the years, I started to notice some things I didn’t fully understand at the time like feeling emotionally numb, exhausted to the impact it had on my romantic relationships.
This is the story of something that helped me until it didn't and I had to question whether this medication was keeping me from growing as a person.
In the next episode I’ll share the chaos of coming off Lexapro.
In this episode, I’m sharing the story of how I ended up taking Lexapro at 21.
From an abusive relationship and years of anxiety to using alcohol to cope with emotions I didn’t know how to process, I eventually reached a point where I knew I needed help.
This is the beginning of my nearly decade long journey with Lexapro.
In the next episode I will share what it felt like to be on Lexapro.
Thanks for listening! <3
Get ready for unfiltered honesty. Here to share my journey with Lexapro and life as I figure things out.
In this intro episode, I’m sharing the beginning of my nomadic journey; selling almost everything I owned, leaving behind the life I had built in San Diego, and setting off to travel through Mexico and Central America in search of home.
Eventually, I landed in a tiny beach town in Mexico where I felt safe and grounded enough to finally begin a journey I had been thinking about for a while, coming off Lexapro after nearly a decade.
This episode is just the beginning. I’ll share more about my experience coming off Lexapro, what happened after, and what two and a half years of traveling taught me about myself and the world.
Welcome to the messy middle.
