Dr. David Beer, professor of political science at Malone University, joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to discuss the findings in the report, as well as the 2020 Democratic candidates for president.

    :17 - We began Thursday’s show hot on a gun debate. Basically, the debate boiled down to “why do we need military-style weaponry?” Ray and Jeanne asked that question, while Tony and Steffany took the other side.
    20:50 - Speaking of age limits and bans, Cuyahoga Falls could be the next city to raise the age of buying tobacco products to 21. Mayor Don Walters called in to talk about the initiative coming from the Summit County Health Department to raise the ages, not just for cigarettes but for vaping.
    25:54 - How much of a problem is vaping with young people? A sizable one, apparently, if high schoolers are partaking in this activity.
    33:03 - Executive director of the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship, Don Padgett, came on for his weekly visit with Ray. The tournament will be held July 11-14th at Firestone Country Club.

    :17 - As soon as we signed off yesterday morning, the Los Angeles Angels and Mike Trout agreed to a historic 12-year, $430 million to keep him in Anaheim. As with each one of these signings, what will this mean for the future of Francisco Lindor in a Tribe uniform?
    10:37 - Like the Buchtel Griffins, the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish boys basketball is also headed to Columbus for the state tournament. Head coach Dru Joyce brought his players in studio for an interview ahead of their matchup against Olentangy Liberty.
    23:32 - Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez was one of the many free agents available for the taking, and the Indians took him. Ray and Tony briefly discussed the signing.
    27:21 - Governor Mike DeWine announced a new budget for student wellness in the state of Ohio, which amounts to $550 million in 2020 and 2021 for schools. Akron Public Schools superintendent David James talked about how this affects his school district.
