Today, Cuyahoga Falls mayor Don Walters stopped by the studio to look back at 2018, from the continued growth of Portage Crossing to the opening of Front Street to automobile traffic.

    :17 - We lost a local legend on Thursday at the age of 79. Don Webster worked at WEWS/Channel 5 for 35 years, hosting the famed shows Upbeat, The Morning Exchange, and Academic Challenge, and was a personable weatherman throughout his tenure. Ray and Tony reflected on Don’s life.
    6:07 - So long, Edwin Encarnacion, and so long, parrotheads. Encarnacion and Yandy Diaz got packaged in a three-team trade that ended up bringing back longtime catcher and first baseman Carlos Santana. Is this a blockbuster move? The panel doesn’t think so.
    11:29 - Scott Wynn stopped by to chat about the movies opening up, and what’s happening in the world of entertainment. Ralph Breaks the Internet still tops the charts, and there’s a new PG-13 Deadpool flick.
    13:47 - We keep things a bit light on Fridays. And speaking of Fridays, let’s talk restaurants, specifically forgotten restaurants from yesteryear. Remember Rax? Bennigan’s? Bob’s Big Boy? Chi-Chi’s? Arthur Treacher’s? Damon’s? Blimpie? York Steak House? Tony Roma’s? All of these were discussed.

    :17 - Victoria Lorenzen isn’t much different from a normal high school junior, except one major difference: she’s an airplane pilot. Her parents are both pilots, and Akron Public Schools and Firestone CLC has allowed her fulfill her dreams. She spoke of her passion in the studio with Ray.
    9:21 - Everyone have their Christmas tree decorated? The panel talked about their trees, either their current ones or trees from their youth. Lots of tinsel, garland, and even bubble lights!
    16:24 - Tim Dimoff is the president and CEO of SACS Security, and he talked about how firms like his would help find missing persons.
    27:19 - Well, is Corey Kluber heading west or no? Will the Indians be active in free agency? Tribe broadcaster Jim Rosenhaus answered those questions to the best of his ability.

    19:58 - Reverend Jeff Kaiser called in to talk about the Haven of Rest during the holiday season.
    25:52 - As always on Wednesdays, Dr. Joe Congeni comes on the program to discuss sports medicine. The Cavaliers are without Tristan Thompson for an extended period, and Dr. Joe talked about what thoracic outlet syndrome is.
    33:25 - Chris Eck is from FirstEnergy, and he stopped by our studios to talk about energy usage this time of year, with all the Christmas lights and displays happening.

    :17 - It’s indeed the holiday season! The morning show panel chatted about the lack of Christmas lights on houses this year, as well as their favorite holiday traditions.
    14:54 - Speaking of holiday traditions, the new pastime seems to be banning or censoring things that some don’t like. A radio station up the road recently banned “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” from their Christmas playlist due to its perceived suggestive lyrics. Ray and Tony think it’s a bunch of bunk.
    20:08 - Mark Welfley from Welfley Technologies in Fairlawn is our tech guy who comes in every holiday season to break down the newest gadgets. Welfley talked about everything from Alexa to tablets to smartwatches.
    42:13 - Could this really be the end in Cleveland for Corey Kluber? Sure seems that way, as the Los Angeles Dodgers are willing to part with a member or two from their crowded outfield for the two-time Cy Young winner.

    11:04 - It’s really chilly outside, so let’s warm things up with some baseball talk? Ray and Tony discussed the rumors that the Indians may trade either Trevor Bauer or Corey Kluber, or both. Then they talked about the newest hall of famers in Harold Baines and Lee Smith, two players the panel believe shouldn’t have made the cut.
    23:34 - As usual on Mondays, veterinarianDr. Gary Riggs drops by to answer questions on your pets. Among other topics, he talked about running with dogs in the cold, and what happens when your pets eat the household holiday plants.
