Saludos, comunidad, ya casi en la recta final para concluir este 2025 que - como todos los años - nos trajo lágrimas y risas, también - como todos los años - miramos hacia el 2026 con esperanzas de cambios hacia lo bueno. Para esta semana en qué la temática es "I Will return" (Volveré) seleccioné participar con la canción "Samba pa'ti".

Es una pieza escrita por el compositor de ascendencia chicano - estadounidense Carlos Santana. Fue editada por vez primera por allá en el año 70 en un disco llamado Apraxa .

Según comenta el autor fue inspirada en Nueva York, luego de su visualización de un individuo ebrio tocando en las calles un saxofón y portando consigo una botella de licor. Esto le inspiró la creación de la canción.

Está pieza tiene una interesante fusión de rock latino, jazz y zamba. Inicialmente fue concebida para guitarra .

Cuando surge esa canción tuvo un éxito de arrollador. Se difundió por toda América, Europa, Estados Unidos y Gran Bretaña.

Como sencillo fue lanzado por Carlos Santana en el año 1973 es decir, tuvo un periodo de difusión de casi 3 años debido a su gran calidad.

Por allá en el año 82, el cantautor puertorriqueño estadounidense José Feliciano, la llevó consigo, después de 10 años de ausencia, en su primer disco en español. Con ella se inicia José Feliciano en el mundo de las baladas - porque en sus comienzos él cantaba era boleros -.

Y, bueno, en su disco "Escena de Amor" incluyen el tema "Samba pa'ti" . Vale destacar que la canción cuenta con la participación en la guitarra del propio Carlos Santana.

De mi experiencia con esa canción recuerdo que en mi adolescencia estudiaba en ese momento en un liceo de mi pueblo natal, Villa de Cura, en el estado Aragua, Venezuela. El liceo "Simón Bolívar"

Todos los adolescentes y jóvenes los estudiantes para ese entonces - tanto liceístas como universitarios - éramos melómanos. Había una emisora de radio llamada Radio Central 970. Aunque aclaro que no solamente nos aprendimos Samba pa'tí, sino que ese disco no tiene ningún desperdicio y todas esas canciones nos las aprendimos, así como nos aprendimos los temas de Yordano, ,"Dueño de nada" de José Luis Rodríguez, como aprendimos a Franco de Vita. Todos esos cantantes nosotros los coreábamos.

Por eso aproveché la coyuntura de la temática de esta semana para traerles está pieza maravillosa que tiene para mí un amplio y contundente bagage de recuerdos. Espero que sea de vuestro agrado.

Para esta semana traigo al Festival una canción original cuya letra y música surgieron de mi inspiración por allá por los años 2003 / 2004. En esa época leí mucho al Marqués de Sade y a Henry Miller y de esa mezcla entre los escritos apasionados y mis propias reminiscencias de amores reales, entre esa amalgama de sentimientos y emociones nació "Si te contara a tí" (If I told you), un canto erótico con gran respeto a la mujer, inspiradora principal de estos devaneos literarios - musicales de poemas que vuelan con alas hechas canción.
