Yes folks, the stadium saga never ends as today, it looks like the Pinellas County Commission will vote on public funding for the Rays new stadium, which if approved, will hopefully have the stadium on track to be built...eventually?

Do not scratch your eyes. You are really seeing the most incredible finish here. The Tampa Bay Rays have indeed signed a catcher, free agent Danny Jansen, who will be making his third stop in the AL East after signing a one-year deal on Friday.

ALSO...the Rays have cleared one major hurdle in the public sector for their new stadium as the St. Pete City Council approved their half of the public funding, $287.5 million in total, on Thursday.

Recent news with Pinellas County has now created even more of a situation regarding Tropicana Field as potential funds for the new stadium on the Trop site is up in the air as a vote on the matter was pushed back three weeks, partly due to the current situation on where the Rays will play in 2025. While we don't know what will come of this, we do know more drama is in the air!

What a last 24 hours it's been in the Tampa Bay, Sarasota and Bradenton areas, let alone Central Florida, Port Charlotte, Fort Myers and other affected areas.

There are officially 12 games left in the 2024 season for the Tampa Bay Rays and with a sub-.500 record and a multi-game Wild Card deficit, it's safe to say that this season will not end in a sixth-straight playoff appearance.

For Rays fans, the end of the season is bittersweet. This team is not a good baseball team, but despite how bad they are, baseball is still fun to watch...sometimes. Hopefully, there will be some fun baseball left in 2024 for Tampa Bay.
