Razor-N-Tape

112 kbps files for preview - don't be a dunce!

Record store owner, DJ, producer, and digger extraordinaire @tomnoble comes to RNT with a superb edits EP of sought-after Caribbean and African sounds. The A side burns hot right out of the gate with the explosive and percussive Soca-disco pulse of They Came To New York, then settles into the laid back lilt of Zouk Pour Esa. On the flip, Disco Massamba is a wild ride of an Afro-disco burner and Parang-A-Teng brings it back to the Western hemisphere for some Latin-tinged funk from Barbados. Well worth it for the value of the original source material alone, this 12” is nothing short of dance floor destruction!

The boys from Hageby are back on RNT Reserve with an EP packed full of lush deepness and dancefloor magic. From the cheeky bounce of Found Love, the slow burn of Hageby In Your Eyes, and the boogie-inflected Ain’t The Way, this record is right for just about any mood. And that’s saying nothing of the standout gem of the 12” - the official @dirtytwo remix of the Byron Stingily classic Get Up (Everybody), which juxtaposes the ubiquitous soaring vocal over a thunderous low end pulse, making for a monster latenite face-melter of a track!

Razor-N-Tape bring out the big guns for their remix package of the Los Angeles Afro-Latino funk band https://soundcloud.com/jungle-fire.

@jkriv’s remix of 'Firewalker' channels the original live instrumentation into a bombastic, DJ-friendly workout, while Boston-born/Medellin-based producer @bosqmusic steps up to tackle 'Village Hustle' bringing his unique blend of rhythmic flavours to this melting pot of zesty goodness.

This diverse 12” also boasts the first remix and release by the newly-reunited @black-science-orchestra in 15 years! Original founding members @ashley-beedle and Rob Mello @noears take on 'Culebro' and transform it into a pulsating Afrobeat groover. Bringing the infectious bass to the foreground behind a shuffling rhythm layered with guitar and horn samples, BSO turn out a serious heater of a remix and dub, worthy of their triumphant return!
