"I am...discouraged, but I will remember you." Ps 42:6 NLT
Max Lucado says: "When God doesn't do what we want [Him to do l, it's not easy; it never has been, and it never will be. Faith is the conviction that God knows more than us…and He'll get us through.
Disappointment is caused by unmet expectations... and it's cured by revamped expectations..Don't panic……don't give up...be patient…God is in control. It ain't over till it's over." So, when you're disappointed:
(1) Look inward. David asked, "Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad?" (v. 5 NLT). Admit how you feel. You can't deal with what you don't acknowledge. Ask God to show you the root of the problem. Is it pent-up anger? Envy? Unforgiveness? Pride? Lust? Physical and mental fatigue? Be open to what He reveals.
(2) Look upward. David said, "I will…hope in God! I will praise him" (v. 5 NLT). Instead of focusing on your discouragement, focus on the One who knows the way out.
(3) Remember God's past faithfulness. David said, "I am... discouraged, but I will remember you." Through every trial Joseph clung to the assurance that God still controlled his destiny Recalling God's faithfulness builds your confidence that He'll continue to provide.
(4) Remember, you don't have to understand. Just because you can't
figure out what God's doing right now, doesn't mean it won't make sense later. He "causes all things to work together for good to those who love [Him]" (Ro 8:28 NAS).
(5) Don't give in to bitterness. When your hopes are dashed. resentment can set in. "If God is for us. who can be against us?" (v. 31 NKJV). Regardless of how deep the pit may seem, God is on your side!

"If God has given you leadership ability, take the
responsibility seriously." Ro 12:8 NLT
As a leader, here are three things you shouldn't do:
(1) You shouldn't be afraid to try something new (See Isa
43:19). When you put someone into a new role, they
will make mistakes: it's inevitable, but it's how they
learn. While locking them into the same routine takes
the wind out of their sails, being a leader means
risking their failures and biting your lip as you let them
toddle out into the unknown. Like a parent who prays
harder when their teen takes the family car out for
their first drive, you must accept that the challenges
which frighten you are actually liberating to others.
(2) You shouldn't confuse individual loyalty with team
building (See 1Co 3:9). It's good to work closely with
key individuals, but it's also important to stay
"connected to each other" (Ro 12:5 GWT). You must
make sure that everybody gets to be on the team,
feels valued, and learns how to interact with one
another.
(3) You shouldn't try to micromanage people
(See 2Co 7:16 GWT). There is a difference between
managing people and leading them. Managing people
requires an eye for detail, whereas leading them
involves vision sharing, goal setting, and motivating.
And you must know the difference. When you
micromanage rather than lead, morale plummets,
because people need clear objectives and the
freedom to figure out how to reach them. Don't
micromanage; it diminishes the sense of ownership
those under you and around you need for good team
dynamics and problem-solving. President Eisenhower
once said, "Pull the string, and it will follow you
wherever you wish. Push it, and it will go nowhere.!"

"Josiah…did not turn away from doing what was right." 2Ch 34:1-2 NLT
When Josiah became king, he cleansed Israel of
idolatry and began rebuilding the temple. That's when
a priest discovered some long-lost scrolls containing
God's Word. As Josiah heard what they said, he was
deeply moved upon realizing his people had drifted far
from God. So he sent word to the prophetess Huldah
asking what would become of the people. She told
him that since he had repented when he heard God's
Word, his nation would be spared while he lived (See
V. 14-27). An entire generation received grace
because of the integrity of one man. And that one man
had a lot to overcome. Josiah's grandfather,
Manasseh, was like the Hitler of the Old Testament.
He filled Jerusalem "from one end to the other with...
blood" (2Ki 21:16 NLT). And Josiah's father died at the
hands of his own officers. "He did what was wrong,
most likely reads his epitaph. Josiah was only eight
when he ascended the throne. Immediately he chose
righteousness and didn't stop doing what was right all
his life. What's the point? You can't pick your parents,
but you can pick your role models. You can't change
vour past, but vou can rise above it. Your parents may
have given you your DNA, but Jesus will give you a
new beginning. "Follow God's example, therefore, as
dearlv loved children" (Eph 5:1 NIV). Your past doesn't
have to be your prison. You have a say in your life, you
have a voice in your destiny, and you have a choice in
the path you take. So choose well, and someday-
generations from now-others will thank God for your
legacy.
You can't change your past, but you can rise above it.

"Your word is settled in heaven " Ps 119:89 NKJV
God's Word must be a "settled" issue in your life. Heaven is the Supreme Court; when it rules on a matter, it's settled. Now, since God's Word is a settled issue in heaven, the question is, "Is it a settled issue in your life?" Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away" (MK 13:31 NKJV). The Bible never needs updating; it's perfect and can't be improved upon. That's why Jesus instructs you to let His "words remain in you" (n 15:7 NIV). In other words, program your mind with the Scriptures. How do you do that?
(1) Give it permanent residence, not visitor status. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly" (Col 3:16). Take it in richly, meaning copiously and abundantly. Call it Operation Saturation! Read the Bible, meditate on it, speak it out loud.
Yes, and even sing its words; "Teach them to each other and sing them out in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs" (v. 16 TLB).
(2) Keep it before you at all times. "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night…do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful" (Jos 1:8 NIV).
Talk it out, think it out, walk it out! You say, "But my memory doesn't retain things too well." No problem. Jesus said, "The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name... will remind you of everything I have said to you" (Jn 14:26 NIV). As you meditate on God's Word, the Holy Spirit will come to the aid of your less-than-perfect memory.
God's Word must be a "settled" issue in our life.

"So I gave up in despair, questioning the value of all my hard work." Ecc 2:20 NLT
When you're disappointed in those vou work with. You won't succeed in life without the right people. But when the people you count on fail you, it's painful. Imagine Moses' disappointment. He leaves his brother Aaron in charge while he spends forty days on Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments. When he returns, what does he find? Israel worshiping a golden calf-made by Aaron. When Moses needs him most Aaron fails miserably. But watch Moses: true leadership shines in disappointment. He confronts Aaron, takes the mess to God, and prays for the forgiveness of Israel. God responds, then reminds Moses of his assignment. "Go, lead the people...my angel will go before you" (Ex 32:34 NIV).
Disappointment doesn't cancel your assignment-or God's presence. So do what God has told you to do!
When you're disappointed in those you have poured your life into. Let's check in again with Moses, founding pastor of the church in the wilderness. His congregation is made up of former slaves who have been delivered, blessed, and who are en route to the Promised Land, but without a shred of loyalty or gratitude for the man who put everything on the line to make it possible. Fresh out of Egypt, they turn on Moses, accusing, blaming, and berating him (See Ex 14). Was Moses disappointed and hurt? Yes. But each time he wanted to quit, he would discuss it with God, pray for his complaining flock, get fresh orders from headquarters, and return to work. That's what God- called men and women do when they're disappointed and feel like giving up.
And it's what you must do, too

"The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness." Ro 8:26 NLT
The twin pillars of a believer's daily life should be
prayer and Scripture. But, while praying may be
simple, it's not always easy. We lack motivation, we're
easily distracted, and we are not always sure what we
should be praying for. So, recognizing our human
inadequacies, God provides help for us in the form of
the Holy Spirit. Paul writes: "The Holy Spirit prays for
us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
And the Father…knows what the Spirit is saying, for
the Spirit pleads for usin harmony with God's own
will" (vV. 26-27 NLT). That means, no matter how you
feel when you pray, the Holy Spirit is in prayer with you
and for you, transforming your feeblest prayers into
powerful appeals to the Father. And when it comes to
the second pillar, namely the Word of God, the Holy
Spirit's role is equally dynamic. Jesus said, "When he,
the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all
truth..whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come" (Jn 16:13). Note,
the Holy Spirit does three things. (1) He guides us as
we study the Word of God and seek to understand it.
(2) He takes what Jesus wants us to know and reveals
it to us. (3) He opens our understanding about things
that are still to come. No question, good reference
books. Scripture-based resources, and skilled Bible
teachers are necessary and helpful, but they're no
substitute when it comes to hearing from the Holy
Spirit for yourself and listening carefully to what He
wants to tell you.
While praying may be simple, it's not always easy.

"They…spend their time gossiping…meddling in other people's business." 1Ti 5:13 NLT
The Bible says gossip is nothing less than "meddling in other people's business." Jon Zens says: "I have watched friends and..families suffer untold pain because of gossip.…[the] information someone dumps on you without your consent and consent of the
person [involved]. [lt] can be true, partially true, or completely false. It can be motivated by good intentions, but it always contains negative... information…[and colors] people's perceptions of [someone] unjustly. The person being torn down is out
of the loop [because] talebearers usually avoid speaking directly to the one they are demeaning." One Christian leader said, "The Christian army is the only one that shoots its wounded." So set the standard for your own life by evaluating people based on your
experience with them, not on what somebody else says. Secondhand information is notoriously unreliable and misleading, and it violates Christ's command to "treat people the...way you want them to treat you" (Mt 7:12 NAS). When you have been hurt by tittle- tattle, you can relate to the wisdom of those words. Rumors and innuendos may seem innocent and come to you subtly, but even if someone isn't operating in
malice, their motive is irrelevant. Spreading gossip defies walking in love and looking "for the best" in others (1Co 13:7 MSG). A. W. Tozer said, "Never pass anything on..that will hurt [somebody]. 'Love covers... a multitude of sins' (1Pe 4:8 NIV), and the talebearer has no place in God's favor. If you know something that would hurt one of God's children…take it out. bury it and say, 'Here lies in peace the story about my
brother! God will take care of it."
