Greg Yoder President of Keys for Kids joins Perry and Shawna to share how Jesus recreated him through Covid 19.  Greg got his first symptoms of Covid on his birthday, October 29.  He thought “No worries, let’s just get this over with.” But God had something else in mind.  First week it felt like the flu but by November 2nd he was in urgent care.  Greg realized he wasn’t in control:  Feelings of loneliness, isolation, grief, anger, anxiety, fear, set it. 

 

On November 7th his fever spiked.  And then on November 8th he hit rock bottom. Greg couldn’t control his emotions. He was an emotional wreck.  God was breaking him, revealing sin in his life:  His lack of grief for lost people, His lack of passion to know Jesus more.  He began to cry out:  “Lord I want to know you more!”  The resurrection began on November 13th when after five days of defeat and brokenness, he posted a cry for help and prayer on Facebook. 

 

That’s when his friends began to pour in the healing of the Holy Spirit.  Greg started digging into the word, using the Psalms of lament to express his pain and hope.  That’s when the Lord began uncovering personality flaws:  speaking truth with no love and the ways in which he looked to ministry and possessions for his worth.  Things that kept him from fully trusting in Christ alone.  It’s an incredible story that shows how we are broken, how we need the gospel.  How the gospel really does change the human heart.  Please share!
