I’ve always been a people pleaser. I’ve always cared what people think—probably too much. But 2025 was the year that slowly started to change. In this episode, I talk honestly about the realization that a part of us will always care about other people’s opinions—and that’s not the problem. We live in an opinionated, hyper-connected world where everyone has access to everyone. There will always be what’s considered “cool,” popular, or trendy, and even choosing to be different means you care enough to set yourself apart. The shift wasn’t about becoming unbothered—it was about becoming clear.
I share how learning to manage my social focus changed everything. Instead of asking, “Do they approve?” or “Did I say the wrong thing?” I started asking better questions: “Do I feel aligned?” “Was I honest?” “Did I abandon myself?” Not caring didn’t come from confidence—it came from clarity. I also unpack the hard truth that you’ll be judged no matter what, so you might as well be judged for being yourself. The right people will see you clearly; the wrong people will misunderstand you no matter how much you explain.
This episode is about reframing the goal. It’s not “How do I stop caring?”—it’s “How do I care less about opinions that don’t align with my values?” I talk about outgrowing relationships, letting go of voices you wouldn’t trade lives with, and choosing whose advice actually matters. And ultimately, I come back to what grounds me most: only God’s opinion truly matters—because His is the only judgment that has an eternal result.
