  • Mike Deleasa: When Humor Diffuses, Listening and Observing, and Contagious Calm

When someone is at ease in their own skin, it invites others to be at ease themselves. This is one of the many relational wins Mike Deleasa serves up in his life. He's a confident guy, but that cconfidence doesn't feel like arrogance, it feels like settledness. You're going to love getting to know this incredibly varied and talented artist and entrepeneur. What I love about this conversation is listening to how Mike talks about the different landscapes he works in, how they've worked together, and how he's pivoted when need be.

There's some wisdom and funny stories being shared, tidbits and ridiculousness, and a lot of catching up going on in today's episode. If you want to connect with Mike, find him on Instagram @Deleasa or online at Deleasa.com. Also, reviews truly do help our show and if you haven't left us one of those beautiful 5-Star reviews yet, what's stopping you?

  • Confidence In Collaboration, Where Mistakes Can Lead Us, and Knowing When You're Wrong

Oftentimes finishing something well means knowing what you need to let go of in order to do so. Life can be a bit like that too. Raise your hand if you've ever felt like something in your life needed to be perfected before you "moved on" to the next phase! Today we're covering a lot of ground ... I know, no surprises there. We're touching on collaboration, working on a team, leading employees, client/vendor relationships, and what it means to truly meet someone in the middle.

  • Paris Carney: Bringing What You Want To See, Creative Risk Taking, and Handling Bad Vibes

There are a multitude of reasons to love, respect, and honor my guest today. Paris Carney is a loving and incredibly talented artist and songrwiter. She has fearlessly moved ahead and forward in an industry teeming with competitiveness, and she's done it without being competitive at all. She doesn't believe in a scarcity mindset and that exudes from the way she speaks, how she champions others, and how she lives.

Today's conversation went by in a flash and I have a feeling it might for you too. When Paris and I start talking through life and relationships we're hard to stop. But there's some good stuff in here. Please enjoy this insightful and truly inpsiring conversation, for me personally, and I hope for you as well. We get into what we believe about ourselves, how we move torward our destiny boldly, and how to love and protect ourselves in the process.

As always, your 5-Star Review would mean the world to me ... If you'd like to write a little something nice, I wouldn't be mad at that either!

  • Balance In Your Work, Setting Your Pace, and That Old Couple From Titanic

If you can get past how congested I am, I think you'll enjoy this chat. No really, I sound like I'm holding my nose.

Courtney and I cover a lot of ground here and I think you'll really like where the conversation goes ... especially if you're someone who has strong feelings about Titanic. We're chatting about what balance looks like at different points in your life and how different it is for each person. When you decide before you begin a project, job, or pursuit how you're going to walk through it and your boundaries within it, you're a lot healthier through it.

We'd be so grateful for a review, but we're equally grateful for you to tell someone about the show or for you to post about it--- But who says you have to pick just one?!

  • Where Ya Been?

Well, today you’re getting a two-for-one! If you’ve been hanging out with me on Instagram for some time, if you’ve been in my life period, you know that I somewhat announced this show out of nowhere. However, Read The Room has been in the planning, a part of a larger story, and in my heart, for some time. Courtney was kind enough to sit down with me and ask some questions about the last several years and about this show, in particular.

I’m excited to let you in on more of why I’ve felt this conversation so necessary, not only for people to hear, but for me to instigate. This is a quick and vulnerable catch up that I think you’ll not only find interesting, but encouraging. Any kind of “stepping out” is scary in part, and although this podcast is a step, it’s a confident one. But you’d have to hear a little bit of where I’ve been and where I’m at to see that. May I let you in a bit more?

Connect with me on Instagram @CavanaughJames and if you haven’t already, would you be willing to leave our show a review up top? Those five star ones DO tend to be our fav ;)

  • Michael Park: Putting Others At Ease, Leading Well, and Bridging Gaps of Experience

There are few people I’ve witnessed to be as enthusiastic about authentically filling the atmosphere of a room up with love and belief as Frank is. And if you’re like, “Wait, why are you calling him Frank?” You’ll have to listen to the episode to know that. Beyond his being one of my favorite people, he’s a bonafide talent and wonderful person I’m endlessly impressed by. Not only is he on one of my all-time favorite musical soundtracks, a two-time Emmy Award Winner, broadway star, and excellent golfer—- He’s just a solid guy who really loves people.

I’m excited to share this conversation with you because you’re going to feel every bit of Frank and how much care and intention he puts behind relationships. He’s got a great deal of wisdom, insight, and genuine balanced perspective. You’ll hear all of that and a lot more … a lot more stories, and a lot more tomfoolery!

As always, if you could spare a second to give us a review up top, it would mean a great deal to our show!

  • Texting, Seeing People Through Filters, Vulnerability Versus Oversharing: Breaking It Down With Courtney

Welcome back, friends. I have to tell you, I like this episode a lot because truthfully, I think there are some interesting conversation points in here. Today Courtney and I are talking through the difference between long texters and those who are use “K” like a complete sentence. Then we’re talking about the filters with which we view others. You’d be surprised how differently Courtney and I see on so much of this, and it’s so fun to talk about.

Finally, we’re digging into the difference between being vulnerable and oversharing, what’s the line? I know I can already hearing some “Amen’s” from the balcony.

    All aboard!

Don’t forget to give us those five beautiful stars and a review wherever you’re listening to this podcast, if you haven’t already. ;)

  • Ryan Edgar: How You Treat Others On The Way To Where You’re Going

People are way more important than goals— That’s a truth Ryan Edgar lives out and one of the many reasons I’m glad to have him on the show today. The way he chooses to see and love people is a breath of fresh air in today’s, “Me, My, I” culture. He does it differently and I'd like for you to know his thoughts; they're good ones.

I’m picking his brain on how to find common ground with anyone, how to lean in to someone else’s life, and how to plug in empathy where you might not naturally. We’re also diving into intent and how clearly we feel it in our communication. Join us for some light razzing, a chat about core values, believing the best, and shenanigans, of course.

  • Honor, Co-Dependence, Strength, and Therapy: Breaking It Down With Courtney

I’m quite excited to share this second episode with you. More than breaking down Jordan McGraw’s episode, Courtney and I are pulling it more into our realities. Want a preview of the ground we’re covering?
Easy. We’re talking through personality strengths, red and green relational flags, defining boundaries, how we communicate honor, prioritizing our values in how we choose people, growing older and growing period … And honestly, that’s not even all. But don’t worry, it’s a good time and great convo.
