Welcome back to Reading with Ben! Let's continue the lecture on the book of 2 Chronicles.

This is episode #02 chapter 03 and 04.

2 Chronicles Chapter 3, Solomon started work on the temple. He built the portico, the main hall, the Most Holy Place, two cherubim, the veil, and two pillars.

2 Chronicles Chapter 4, Solomon made an altar, the Sea, ten lavers, ten lampstands, ten tables and the courts for the temple. Huram made the furnishings.

This is episode #14 chapters 27 & 28.

1 Chronicles Chapter 28, This chapter deals with the list of the People of Israel including the head of families, commanders and the officers who served the king. Each and every division was composed of 24,000 men.

1 Chronicles Chapter 28, describes King David’s wish to build a temple. During his last days, there were several Levites and chief priests in Jerusalem. David assembled them and talked about his wish of building a temple for the Lord. However, God had disallowed that purpose.

This is episode #13 chapters 25 & 26.

1 Chronicles Chapter 25, is about the musicians who were set apart by King David along with the commanders of the army. They took the sons of Heman, Asaph, and Jeduthun.

1 Chronicles Chapter 26, mainly talks about the offices of the Levites. There is a list of various names who were the treasurers and the porters.

This is episode #12 chapters 23 & 24.

1 Chronicles Chapter 23, David made his son Solomon King over Israel. This was done when David was old and his days as ruler were done.

1 Chronicles Chapter 24, is about the division of the priests and of the Levites, which continues off from the previous chapter where David turns the kingdom over to his son, Solomon.

This is episode #11 chapters 21 & 22.

1 Chronicles Chapter 21, was about the census in Israel and Judah. Satan provoked David to count the people of Israel because he thought that strength was found in numbers, and not of God.

1 Chronicles Chapter 22, is about the Temple that the Lord commanded David to build. David said that the temple is the house of the Lord and it is an altar of burnt offerings for Israel. He commanded those who lived among the Israelites to cut stones in order for them to be able to build the house.

This is episode #10 chapters 19 & 20.

1 Chronicles Chapter 19 chronicles King David winning his battles over the Ammonite mercenaries after a slight.

1 Chronicles Chapter 20, it is springtime during the reign of King David. This is the time when the kings typically go to war. Joab is still one of David’s most trusted captains, though David will have difficulties with him later on. But now Joab musters David’s forces and leads them out to war.

This is episode #09 chapters 17 & 18.

1 Chronicles Chapter 17 is about God’s covenant with David. When David was dwelling in his house, he felt distraught because the Ark of the Lord was in a tent, while he himself was in a beautiful cedar house. He voiced out his concerns to Nathan, who was a prophet. Nathan told him that he should do whatever he feels is right because the Lord God of Israel is with him.

1 Chronicles 18 delves into the numerous victories that David achieved thanks to help from the Lord.

This is episode #08 chapters 15 & 16.

1 Chronicles Chapter 15, is about the Ark of the Covenant being brought to Jerusalem, in the City of David. David built places of residence for himself as well as an area where the Ark of God could stay.

1 Chronicles Chapter 16, the Ark of the Covenant is brought to the tent that King David raised for it. Sacrifices are made before the Lord, including fellowship and burnt offerings. When David had finished these scarifies, he blesses the Israelites in the name of God and gives them loaves of bread, date cakes, and raisin cakes. He gives these to every man and woman.
