June 15, 2022 The Book of Numbers Chapter 35 & 36. ESV Version.
Welcome back to Reading with Ben! Let's continue the lecture on the book of Numbers.
This is episode #18 Numbers chapters 35 & 36.
Numbers Chapter 35, On the Moab plains, God commanded Moses to tell the Israelites that they had to give the Levites some towns to reside in from their inheritance. They were to also give them some pasture lands near these towns. God gave instructions for how big the pasture lands should be which were near the towns.

Numbers Chapter 36, The family leaders of the Gilead clan and the clans that had descended from Joseph, went to speak to Moses, as well as many leaders from the different Israelite families. They told Moses and the others that when God had commanded that the land be given as an inheritance to them by lot, God also ordered that the inheritance of their brother Zelophehad be given to his daughters.

Welcome back to Reading with Ben! Let's continue the lecture on the book of Numbers.
This is episode #17 Numbers chapters 33 & 34.

Numbers Chapter 33, This chapter lists the stages of the Israelites’ journey after they left Egypt when they were being led by Moses and Aaron. The Lord had told Moses to keep a record of every single stage in their journey. The first stage was when they left Ramses, which occurred in the first month, during the fifteenth day. This was the first day right after the Passover. The Israelites marched out and all of the Egyptians saw them.
Numbers Chapter 34, God told Moses to tell the Israelites when they enter Canaan that the land will be allotted to them as an inheritance, and that the land will have certain boundaries.

June 13, 2022 The Book of Numbers Chapter 31 & 32. ESV Version.
Welcome back to Reading with Ben! Let's continue the lecture on the book of Numbers.
This is episode #16 Numbers chapters 31 & 32.
Numbers Chapter 31, God spoke to Moses and commanded him to get revenge on the Midianites. Moses told the Israelites to go fight the Midianites because the Lord wanted vengeance. Moses told them that each tribe had to send 1,000 men into battle. Twelve thousand men went into battle against the Midianites.
Numbers Chapter 32, The Gadites and Reubenites had large flocks and herds. They noticed that the land in Gilead and Jazer were ideal for livestock. They went to Eleazar and Moses as well as the other community leaders to ask them if this land could be theirs because they did not want to cross the Jordan.

This is episode #15 Numbers chapters 29 & 30.

Numbers Chapter 29, God commanded that in the seventh month, during the first day, the Israelites were to have a scared assembly. No regular work was to be done on that day. This was to be a day when they sounded the trumpets. Offerings were to be made to the Lord such as seven male lambs, one ram, and one young bull.

Numbers Chapter 30, revolves around a lecture Moses offers to his people about taking pledges and how to keep those pledges to honor the Lord.

This is episode #14 Numbers chapters 27 & 28.

Numbers Chapter 27, Zelophehad’s daughters belonged to the Manasseh clans. The daughter’s names were Tirzah, Milkah, Hoglah, Noah, and Mahlah. They came forward to stand before Moses, Eleazar, and the leaders, as well as the entire assembly at the front of the meeting tent.

Numbers Chapter 28, offers insights into the offerings that were made to the Lord during the time of Moses.

This is episode #13 Numbers chapters 25 & 26.

Numbers Chapter 25, covers the topic of sexual immorality and the worship of false gods. At the core of this conflict is the relationship between Israeli men and Moabite women and the Midianite people.

Numbers Chapter 26, After the plague, God told Moses, as well as Eleazar, Aaron’s son, to complete a thorough census on the entire Israelite community by families. God wanted them to find out how many males were 20 years old or older that could serve in Israel’s army. The Israelites that had left Egypt were also counted.

Numbers chapter 23, discusses the messages that Balaam has for Balak as God instructed him.

Numbers Chapter 24, the Israelites are still in the wilderness and Moses is their leader. They have defeated the Amorites and are now in the land of Moab, and the King of Moab, Balak, has asked a sorcerer named Balaam to curse them so they can be defeated. But Balaam can only speak the words that God gives him, and he cannot curse the Israelites.

Welcome back to Reading with Ben! Let's continue the lecture on the book of Numbers.
This is episode #11 Numbers chapters 21 & 22.

Numbers Chapter 21, There are several events that ensue in this chapter. First, the Israelites are attacked by Canaanite’s King of Arad, but God listens to his people and delivers Canaanites in their hands. Later, Israelites doubt God again as they become impatient in the long journey and snakes are unleashed as their punishment. But because God is merciful and provides healing through Moses.

Numbers Chapter 22, the children of Israel are now camped in the Moab plain by the Jordan River. The Israelites had just defeated the Amorites and Moab was afraid of them. The King of the Moabites sends messengers to Balaam, a sorcerer, to ask that Balaam curse the Israelites, because they were many.
