Ready for the Draft Podcast

Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2022 NFL Draft.

Episode 6 focuses on Gregg's picks at the offensive line.  At the OT position, we know Evan Neal, the mammoth OT at Alabama, is the clear-cut No. 1 prospect in the draft class, but who is No. 2?  Is it Sean Rhyan?  Charles Cross?  Laxson Kirkland?  Rasheed Walker?  Where does Zion Nelson fit into the mix?  At OG, Kenyon Green, Ikem Ekwonu, Darian Kinnard and Zion Johnson will all be playing OT this season, but they project best inside.  And at the pivot, Tyler Linderbaum is expected to be the first center off the board, but will he be a 1st Rounder?  And how high will Neal and Green come off the board?

Episode 5 is the fourth installment of the preseason edition where Gregg previews the TE position.  While this draft class doesn't have the firepower at the top like Kyle Pitts, there is depth at the position with plenty of potential playmakers.  Will it be Jalen Wydermyer or Jahleel Billingsley at the top of the class?  Will either be a 1st Round pick?  And who's next off the board?  Will it be Trey McBridge, Cade Otton, Charlie Kolar, Greg Dulcich, Austin Stogner, or will another prospect emerge?

Episode 4 is the third installment of the preseason edition where Gregg previews the WR position and offers his top 10 wideouts going into the season.  We've seen teammates at the top of Round One in each of the last two drafts, but both of those duos, Henry Ruggs III and Jerry Jeudy in 2020 and Jaylen Waddle and Devonta Smith in 2021, were from Alabama.  Could we see a duo from Ohio State make waves at the top of this year's draft class?  Some of the top wideouts in recent drafts have come off the board on Day 2.  Who could be next?

Episode 3 is the second installment of the preseason edition where Gregg previews his top 10 at each position and features the RB position.  In April, we saw Najee Harris and Travis Etienne were back-to-back picks in the 1st Round.  Will this crop of RB's produce a 1st Rounder?  Breece Hall finished 6th in the Heisman voting last year.  Can he build upon that performance?  Isaiah Spiller and Ainias Smith are dynamic, but will sharing the backfield impact their stock?  Who will emerge as the top prospect from the group that includes Zamir White, Kyren Williams, Kevin Harris, Tyler Goodson, Mohamed Ibrahim, CJ Verdell, Jerrion Ealy and Rachaad White?   And how much noise can Group of 5 backs like Sincere McCormick and Xazavian Valladay make on the national scene?

Episode 2 begins with the QB position, where Spencer Rattler and Sam Howell are widely considered the top two QB's in this draft.  But who will be the next 2-3 QB's off the board?  Carson Strong?  Malik Willis?  Matt Corral?  Where do four-year starter Desmond Ridder and USC transfer JT Daniels fit into the mix?  And which Kedon Slovis will we see in 2021?

Through the years, from John Randle to London Fletcher to Wayne Chrebet and Wes Welker, the league has been impacted by players who went undrafted.  Just a season ago James Robinson, who finished with over 4,000 career rushing yards while at Illinois State, went on to be Jacksonville's unquestioned starting RB after going undrafted in the 2020 draft.

In the  third installment of the post-draft edition of the Ready for the Draft podcast.  Gregg takes a look at the undrafted free agents for all 32 teams and gives his thoughts on which UDFA's have a shot to make a roster.

Gregg also reviews his "By the Numbers" segment where he tried to predict the number of players drafted in each round by position based on the historical data of the last five drafts.  Do the numbers help predict the outcome?  Gregg also took it a step further and tried to plug players in each round as well.

Gregg breaks down his final 1st Round Mock Draft. We know Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson are going No. 1 and No. 2, but will it be Mac Jones or Trey Lance No. 3 to the Niners?  Is Kyle Pitts a Falcon?  Will the Bengals give Joe Burrow a weapon like Ja'Marr Chase or someone to protect him in Penei Sewell?  And will Bill Belichick look to trade up to get his QB of the future?

Gregg also plays "NFL Draft - By the Numbers" where he attempts to predict not only how many players at each position will come off the board in each round using historical data from the last five drafts, but will also attempt to predict the names of the players coming off the board in each round.  No teams involved....just playing by the numbers.
